Lieutenant Conn Brown who
for-the past two years has been
camp quartermaster at Wichita
Falls, Tex., received his discharge
April 19, and has resumed civili-
an duties. He is located tempo-
rarily in San Antonio and later will
return to Aransas Pass. He was
visiting friends and relatives here
yesterday; and was highly pleased
with the substantial progress of
Aransas Pass andthe harbor.

T. J. Keahy has disposed of his
shoe repairing shop to S. J. Brown,
who recently returned to Aransas
Pass from Clayton N. M. Mr.
Keahy retired from the business
because of ill health.

Chas. Ward was this week ex-
hibiting a Japanese radish grown
in his garden that weighed 8
pounds and was 36 inches in cir-
cumference. Jt was planted about
eight months ago, and allowed to
go to seed. It has more the appear-
ance of a huge rutabaga than a ra-
dish and is quite a curiosity.
