District Uni on Meeting Will be Meld
Here Next Week. Pres-
ident Neil Coming
The Farmers’ Union will hold a
district meeting in this city next
n i*ek and a large attendance is ex
1X1(11*11. Several notable men and
workers in tho Union will be here,
among them being President Neil
of Fort Worth.
The Farmers’ Union has been
steadily growing in memliership
and strength, and these meetings
are always full of interest.
It is an organization that should
lie encouraged. It is not now, nor
has it ever been a political body.
It was organized strictly in the in
teret of the farmer and it’s main
object is the promotion of his wel
fare and the betterment of farming
and agricultural conditions.

TMcf Burglarises Storm Homo at
Residence nf Mrs. Henry
Bales. “Mean Mm.”
Thursday uight some unnerupu
lous mem tier of the human race
decided to burglarize the storm
house at the home of Mre. llenry
Bales, and from the report Mrs
Bales gives of it, he accomplished
his purpose and evidently satisfied
himsell by taking away as much
meat aud canned fruit as be could
carry. Mrs. Bales further stated
in her remarks that she knew that
the mail who did it was the
“meanest man in Bonham,” The
thief got away with a side of baoon
that belonged to Mrs. Bales and
about fifteen cans of fruit that be
longed to Mis. Wiley Duncan.
Sheriff Bridge was notified and
went out and investigated the
matter and tracked the thief for
some distance, and then lost the
trail, but he is still at work on the
case aud believes that he will cap
ture the guilty party.
At The Crescent.
A crowd that taxed the capacity
of the house was out last evening
at the Crescent. The Mitchells and
Trump, the legless wonder, were
the vaudeville attractions, and as
an added feature it was amateur
night, something entirely new.
The first named were good, as they
always are, but the principal in-
terest was centered in the amateurs.
There were three acts put on by
local talent, and they were all
good. The awarding of the prize
which was to be given, was a difli
cult matter, and the participants
had to go before the curtain a
number of times before a decision
could be finally reached, and even
at that it was a good deal of a
guess as to who was really entitled
to same. Those who took part were
Clarence Kearns, Stuart Myers
and Miss Bertie Lee aud the three
little ones, May Alice Weathersby
and Lucileand Imogeue Cox. The
little ones got the prize, but it was
