Secretary's Report
ONE ACTIVITY UNIT
-2-
On the recommendation of Miss Lewinson, Mrs. Winthrop
and Mrs. Whitlock, Vice-Chairman of Services and Organ-
ization, who wea/e appointed to reconsider the resolution
regarding One Activity Units, it was:
RESOLVED That the resolution taken at the Executive
Committee meeting of June 14, 1944 which
reads: ''Resolved---That if a special activity
is required in a community where no AWVS Unit
exists and that activity is one which forms a
part of the AWVS program, a special Unit may
be started which will carry on that activity,
and it may hold a limited certificate of member-
ship in the National organization, but will not
be entitled to a vote. After other activities
have been added and the membership has been
brought up to twenty-five members, a regular
certificate may be issued by the National Board
of Directors."

PROGRAM
Mrs. Stanhope Nixon and Mrs. Ogden Mills upon their
return from Washington presented the proposed program
to the Executive Committee and the four projects on
which the program is based are as follows: Job Training
for Women; Rehabilitation; Citizens Education and
Public Health. It was;
RESOLVED That the Executive Committee recommend to the
Board of Directors the adoption of this Program,
with the understanding that these proposed plans
do not necessarily negate the present projects.
TRAINING
The question as to whether a charge should be made for
pamphlets and Training syllabus' was brought before the
Executive Committee and it was:
RESOLVED That a charge may be made for any Training
Course syllabus.
HOME SAFETY CONTEST
Jr'^Scjy Contest to be conducted for Home Safety was presented
to the Executive Committee for consideration. It was unanimousL
rfgreed that the^Executive Committee approve this contest with
the recommendation that War Bonds be awarded as prizes, and the
details of publicizing the Contest be left to the Public
Relations Department.
