Dear Mr s . Kempner.
From your letter and some printed data which I
have found, I believe that I will be able to
make a better report next month.
Mrs. Butler and I made the reports on special
projects last year, which were too wordie I
fear.
I had already talked with Mrs. Ferry, and she
helped us make out the last report* Next time
I shall shoot at a happy medium and shall
appreciate any constructive criticism from you.
1 have noted your request for human interest
stories. v
We are no little concerned over the small number
of uniforms in our unit, and I have been wondering
if we have The right to pass a motion, covering
our local situation.concerning hours required
so that more of our members could be gotten into
uniforms. if we have this privilege, I had
thought that we might allow uniforms to members
on pledges of the rest of their required hours.
We could set up a committee to pass on the mem-
ber^ dependability and integrity. We find that
members in uniform are far more generous with
their working hours.
last September we sent you a report on the Corpus
Christi Paper Salvage Drive which Mrs. Perry said
she would request returned. If you still have
this report, will you please send it to me, as
the Chairman of the National Old Clothes Drlve#
here in Austin, has asked me for some of the data
ther ein .
