If the weather permits, Klondike
pupils will put on a play, "Two Days
to Get Married." This play is full of
laughter. All are invited to be present
Friday night, Feb. 14, at the school
auditorium.
Mrs. W. J. Hudson came near be-
ing seriously injured last week in help-
ing to move the radio. She slipped
and fell. Dr. Taylor was called to
administer to her suffering. She is
reported as resting fine at this time.
Mr. and Mrs. Todd and daughter,
Gladys, of Fort Worth and Miss Opal
Hardy of Fort Worth and Aubrey
Moore of Dallas spent Saturday night
and Sunday with P. H. Moore and
family.
The friends of P. H. Moore were
glad to see him shaking hands on
the streets again Monday after an ab-
sence for several months. He has
been under treatment in a Sherman
hospital. We are all wishing him a
recovery soon from his suffering from
cancer.
Mr. and Mrs. Babe Poe are the proud
parents of a 9 pound girl, born Sat-
urday. Mother and babe are getting
along nicely
Mr. and Mrs. Guy Ray and little
daughter of Cooper were visiting Mr.
Ray’s parents Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. B. D. Brack and baby
of Dallas were week end guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hooten and fam-
ily.
Misses Gladys Ragan and Irene An-
derson of Commerce spent Saturday
night and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs |
H. V. Ragan.
Mr. and Mrs. Everet Anderson and
family of Cooper were Klondike call-
ers Sunday.
W. G. Kyle with several from Coop-
er attended the funeral cf Miss Smith,
the county demonstrator, who met
death Saturday afternoon by suffoca-
tion from gas. This tragic death has
cast a gloom over our county. She
was buried Sunday afternoon at four
o’clock at Pittsburg.
Mrs. Birtie Toloson and children of
Long Taw community spent Saturday
night and Sunday with Mr. ana Mrs.
Irvin and family.
Mrs. Ernest Allard and Ernest Hoot-
en of Paris were Klondike visitors last
week end.

Sunday in Lone Oak with their son,'
Allen, and wife.

Mrs. Ada Nelson left Tuesday for
Sherman where she will spend a few
days visiting her daughter. Mrs. Joe
Chumbley. and family.
Mrs. C B. Allard and children of
Commerce spent Monday with Mr.
and Mrs. C. P. Hollon.
Hershel Hooten of Dallas was a

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hooten of Coop-

is spending a few davs in Klondike
visiting friends and relatives.

el.

Lionel Gilmore.

girl, which has been named Mattie

Health in our midst is good, except
for whooping cough. There are sev-
eral new cases.
We hope to have Sunday School
every Sunday at 10 o'clock. Since
the bad weather we have not had
Sunday School for several Sundays.

Roads are getting better.

Harry Williams says he is taking
things easy, as he has all of his land

Mr. Epipers went to Kensmg last
week after some hogs to make his
meat next winter.
Mr. Nabors has been on the sick
list the last week but is better at
this writing.
Mrs. Ethel Mills and son visited
Mrs. Ora Rosser Sunday.
Mrs. Ethel Worley visited her daugh-
ter, Mrs. T. H. Beaver, Saturday night.
Several young folks were entertain-
ed with a party Friday night at the
home of Mr. and Mrs Clinton Worley.
T. H Beaver is having his car over-
hauled.
Miss Etta Moore was a Vasco visit-
or Sunday.
Dal South and family visited his
wife's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pope,
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Eppers visited
Mr. and Mrs. Worley Thursday night,
John Nabors was dragging the roads

Notice is hereby given that by vir-
tue of a certain order of sale issued
out of the Honorable District Court
of Delta County, Texas, on the 29th
day of January, 1930. by Mabel Shaw
Scott, Cleric of said Court, for the sum
of seven hundred eighty-six and 20-
100 ($786.20) dollars, taxes and pen-
alty for the year 1927, with interest
thereon from February 1, 1928, at the
rate of six per cent per annum, and
costs cf suit under a judgement in
favor of the State of Texas, suing
herein for the use and benefit of Del-
ta County Levee Improvement Dis-
trict No. 8, and the Delta County Le-
vee Improvement District No. 8 in
its own right and behalf in a certain
cause in said Court No. 948, and styl-
ed the State of Texas, et al, vs. P W.
Maloney, et al, placed in my hands
for service. I. C. H. Henson, as Sheriff
of Delta County, Texas, did on the
3th day of February, 1930, levy upon
c.'tain real estate situated in Delta
bounty, Texas, described as follows:
All that certain tract or parcel of
land situated in the County of Delta
ind State of Texas, being a part cf
he John Darrel survey, Jno. D. Mil-
ler. assignee, and is more particularly
known as the old E. H. Miller home-
stead.
Beginning 228 varas north and 144
varas east of the S E corner of the
Jno. D. Miller survey, which point is
the N E corner of a 12-acre tract of
! md deeded to J. F. Alexander to T.
E. Miller Oct. 5, 1900, as shown in
deed bock 2, page 209.
Thence north, passing C. I. Miller’s
S W corner and continuing north
with Miller's W B line in all north 739
varas to the S E corner of a 31 acre
<”t of land deeded to T. E. Miller
by E. H. Miller Dec 27, 1887, as shown
in deed book X, page 597'
Thence west with T. E. Miller's S
3 line and passing the E B line of
the Jno. D. Miller survey at 144 varas,
and continuing on west, the S B iine
y. Miller's 31 acre tract and 35 acres
in all west 527.5 varas to tile E B line
of Jno. Hamilton 353 acree survey.
Thence south the E B line ul HU
Jno Hamilton survey and passing his
S W corner and continuing south with
the E B line of T. E. Miller's 37 1-2
acre tract in all south 955 varas to a
stake; on the 8 B line of the original
Miller survey, which point is the S
E corner of T. E. Miller'6 37 1-2 acre
tract.
Thence east with the S B line of
said original survey 264 1-2 varas to
the S W comer of T. E. Miller's 12
acre tract bought of Alexander.
Thence north with Miller's W B lire
228 varas to Miller’s N W comer.
Thence east with the N B line of
Miller’s 12 acre 263 varas to the place
of beginning, containing 75 acres of
land, more or less.
Also all that certain tract or parcel
of land situated in Delta County, Tex-
as, about 10 miles S W from Cooper
and being a part of the J Derrall sur-
vey. Beginning at a stake, the S W
corner of Charles Stunkard land.
Thence E 572 1-2 varas with S L
line Stunkard land to N W oorner of
Ed Stringer land, a stake.
Thence south 418 varas a stake;
thence west 572 1-2 varas an elm
marked “A;” thence north 418 varas
to the place of beginning, containing
42 acres of land, more or less, less
land sold to levee district.
The above described tracts includ-
ing all of said land that is situated
within Delta County Levee improve-
ment District No. 8.
That on the first Tuesday in March.
A. D 1930, the same being the 4th
day of said month, at the oourt house
door of Delta County, in the City of
Cooper, Texas, between the hours of
10 a. m. and 4 p. wi. by virtue of said
levy and said order of sale, I /will sell
said above described real estate at
public vendue for cash to the highest
bidder as the property of P. W. Ma-
loney Co., a corporation. P. W. Malon-
ey, Luther A. Rees and W. L. Jones.
And in compliance with law. I give
this notice by publication in the Eng-
lish language, once a week for thre“
consecutive weeks immediately pre-
ceding said day of sale, in the Coop,”-
Review, a newspaper published in Del-
ta County.
