DEPOSIT INSURANCE
HAS BEEN INCREASED TO
Congress has recently raised the insurance provided
by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from
$20,000 to $40,000. As a member, we can now provide
your hard-earned dollars with greater safety than ever
before. No one has ever lost a dime in an insured
savings account.
That old adage, "there's nothing like having money in
the bank" never had greater meaning. Make it OUR
bank!

Angeline Sharp says...Life on
these daytime detergent dramas
might seem complex, when you
consider that the brother of the
man who completely lost his
memory wants to marry the
forgotten wife of the amnesiac
(this wife is gorgeous and an
able psychiatrist). The amnesiac
has meanwhile "married" the
beautiful crippled girl who is
always sad and wants child-
ren...and the sister of the man
with no memory has been killed
in an accident (managing to
save her baby)...leaving a
bereaved widower who will not
be comforted, even by his grown
up and strikingly beautiful
stepdaughter, who secretly
pines for him, though she has
married a wealthy older man,
wh ' * ex-v/ife carries a flaming
torch, and the rich man’s
daughter is accidentally shot by
his ex-wife (hei own mother),
though the bullet was intended
for the present wife...that is the
strikingly beautiful one who
really loves her stepfather but
seems to play around with her
doctor, her lawyer (and perhaps
her butcher, her baker, and her
candlestick maker)...That is the
complex part...The simple part
is there are zilch housekeeping
and budget problems... they
dine in plush restaurants on
lobster thermidor, washed down
by stemmed glasses of the
bubbly...this does not result in
any weight problem for anyone..
They live in dream houses or
apartments or on farms which
seem to run themselves...(with
the help of someone named
Hugo or Hans..who can "man-
age" things while our charact-
ers take extended trips) Every-
one is beautifully dressed and
eoiffed at all hour (and what
hours they keep) Angeline’s
conclusion is that life on "As the
Heart Burns" is not all bad.
Received the following letter
last week ... have written to
urge Nancy Faris to collect
her husband,Jack, and move to
East Delta. We could use her
brand of humor.
Dear Mrs. Swenson,
For the past week, I’ve had
the pleasure of sharing a room
in the Evanston Hospital with
your "roving reporter", Helen
Perry. Among the highlights,
has been the reading of your
delightful column concerning
Charleston news.
Of interest to your readers
might be Helen Perry’s remark-
able rock garden. Most of us
concede that anything from
Texas is larger and more
glorious than anything not from
Texas, but Helen’s Rock Garden
is ultimate proof of that historic
claim.
From Helen gallbaldder came
sixteen ol the most spectacular
rocks since the moonstones
were brought back to Earth.
I wo oi these beauties actually
tail into the boulder category,
the other fourteen are slightly
less spectacular. Their amber
sheen adds to their interest and
perhaps on the Perry’s return, a
public showing might be ar
ranged at the Charleston Com-
munity Center.
Ii has been a delight getting
to know your Mrs. Perry. She is
indeed a gracious, gentle lady
who epitomizes Texas geniality.
