The seniors are very’ happy this
week as they got their rings Tues-
day morning. We gave the plea-
sure of opening the package to
Mrs. Irons and each ring was dis-
tributed.
Seniors Will Present Play.
The senior class will present a
play, “Closed Lips, ’ by Lillian Mor-
timer, in the school auditorium on
Friday evening, December 2nd, be-
ginning at 7:15 o’clock. The price
of admission will be 10 cents to

The Junior class had a party Fri-

Edd Alexander Passed Away.
Agjln our hearts were made sad
when the message came to our
town saying one of our old1 friends
and neighbors had passed awav
at his home in Pittsburg.
Hdid Alexander w’as 72 years and
10 months old and was a resident
of this county for many years. A-
bout 17 years ago he gave up his
good companion, after which he
left Klondike and has made his
home with his daughter at Pitts-
burg. He gtave down in health in
April and1 has been very feeble
since and1 on Saturday afternoon
passed away. He leaves to mourn
his passing one daughter, Mrs. Vir-
da Williams, of Pittsburg, one son.
Eiri Alexander cf Pittstonrg and
one son, James Edd Alexander, of
California, and a number of other
relatives and many friends ta
mourn his passing.
The body arrived about 2 o'clock
followed by a number of relatives
and friends from Pittsburg, Glade-
water and Dallas, and was carried
to the Church of Christ of which
be had' been a member for several
years, w’here funeral services were
conducted by Mr. Wheeler of Coop-
er, after which the body was car-
ried to Klondike cemetery and
placed in the grave besidie that of
bia wife.
We deeply sympathize with those
(fear ones in this great sorrow.
Janioe, the 2-year-old daughter
orf Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Hooten Is
very ill in a Paris hospital suffer-
ing with diphtheria, and her co.t-
is ver.v critical. Frienus
hope she shall soon recover and
be able to return home.
Mrs. A. V. McOaleb, Miss Vir-
e'nra Vernon and Walter Hender-
son were Paris callers Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Hooten an i

atives in Dallas and Fort Worth
over the week end.

M. E. Missionary
Society Met Monday
The Missionary Society of the M.
E. Church met Monday, Nov. 21.
with Mrs. L. F. Hooten as hostess,
assisted by Meadames Rountree and
townsend. The president. Mrs. J.
A. Haddock, presided, holding a
shout business session. She called
the names of members present that
had made a block for our mission-
ary quilt. Each cne turned' in her
block with the amount made by so-
liciting names for same. The pres-
ident reported' $41 made on the
quilt, this being a sufficient sum to
meet our present needs.
We will not have cur bazaar
on the third of December as ad-
vertised.
The meeting was (then turned
over to the leader, Mrs. Roy L.
Stephenson. Song was followed by
prayer. Mrs. Frances Evans, ac-
compinied by Miss Bobbie Foster,
sang a beautiful solo, “My Prayer
For Today.”
We had as our guests Miss Fos-
ter. Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Z. M. Miller
and Mrs. R. L. Ely. Mrs. Ely 's
tJlie wife of the Methodist pastor
at Ben Franklin, and Mrs. Mille7*,
as we all know, lives at Ben Frank-
lin.
The topic for the d&y was China,
and Mrs. Miller gave us a most in-
teresting talk on our medical school
in Shanghai and told us what it,
has meant to the women, especial-
ly, of that country. After this Miss !
