Loyd Wright Receives Award
Lilly Leads “Day
Loyd Wright of Dallas,
agency manager of the Dallas
County Farm Bureau, received a
Master Agent Award from the
Texas Farm Bureau Insurance
Companies at a recognition
program in Fort Worth recently.
To beselected as a Master
Agent is the highest honor and
recognition the Texas Farm
Bureau Insurance Companies
can bestow upon a member of
their sales force according to
company officials. B.C. Jones,
of Waco, is executive vice
president and Austin Crown-
over, also of Waco, is state sales
director for the companies. The
criteria for determining Master
Agent is rigid and selective,
requiring the maintenance of
high professional standards,
they said.
Jones and Crownover said the
following criteria is used in
determining recipients of the
Master Agent Award:
Production must rank high in
life, fire and casualty insurance
sales throughout the year.
The agent must have been
with the Companies two years or
more, participate in company
schools and folio-’ company
guidelines.
Professional status must be
maintained as full time Career
Agents or Agency Managers.
A Master Agent must adhere
to Company and Farm Bureau
procedures and policies. He
must cooperate, be loyal and
maintain a cooperative personal
attitude with members and
County and State Farm Bureau
personnel.
This was the first year for the
Master Agent program. A total
of 27 agents received the award
at the Fort Worth meeting.
There are 311 agent3 serving
Farm Bureau members in
Texas.
Loyd is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Raymond Wright of
Throckmorton.
Elbert Youth ,
Rally Scheduled
By Sandra Miller
Elbert Baptist Church will be
the scene Sunday night, March
31, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., of a
youth rally of great proportions!
The first hour of the rally will
be a music festival. A group
from Hillsboro is coming down,
and all other musicians are
invited as well.
The second hour will be
devoted to the film, “Flip Side”
a film directed to youth.
The highlight of the night will
be a talk with Anita Bryant on
the phone in Miami, Florida.

be taped so that it can be played
back to the other youth that are

Fraternity
Retreat Held
Freddie Chandler, was host for
the annual retreat of the Phi
Delta Fraternity of Texas Tech
for the second year. Over a
hundred boys attended the
affair which was held over the
weekend. He was assisted by
such able cooks as Morris
Mercer of Wichita Falls, Jim
Coker, George London, Jimmy
Chadler, Terry Redwine and
Bub Bachman.
Freddie is presently serving
as vice president of the chapter
and was named to the national
all Phi football team for the past
season.

sive tackle Bob Lilly, pictured
with Bradley Meyer, will again
serve as State Chairman of the
1974 Texas High School Football
Boy’s Lily Day for Crippled
Children, an annual event to
raise funds for the treatment
and service program of the
Easter Seal Society for Crippled
Childrem and Adults of Texas.
On Lily Day, set for Saturday,
March 23, in most cities, high
school football teams will be on
downtown streets and in
shopping centers pinning small
plastic white Jijies on the lapels
of shoppers: Donations for the
lilies go to provide treatment
and service for physically
handicapped children and ad-
ults in Texas.
Lilly, who finished his twelfth
year in professional football,
will lead several thousand high
school football players in this
special fund-raising event. A
native of Throckmorton and a
1961 graduate of Texas Christian
University, he was a College
All-American and was a number
one draft choice of the Cowboys
as a defensive end. He is the son
of Mrs. Margaret Lilly, County
Treasurer of Throckmorton.
Lilly has contacted over 500
high school football teams in
Texas asking that they partici-
pate in Lily Day to raise funds
for the services the Easter Seal
Society provides. Last year, the
Texas Easter Seal Society
provided treatment and services
to 20,570 physically disabled
Texans through a state-wide
network of affiliates and
representatives.
Sam Massey is the local
Easter Seal Chairman for
Throckmorton County.
