60 years ago happenings. Under
a dateline of June, 1915 was this
notation: “Jones county was
visited by a severe tornado May

Sims used to work at The
Tribune when all the type was
set by hand? She was Essie
Everett then and she got the big
sum of 95 cents a galley for
handsetting type. She used a
mirror so she could read the
type faster. She worked here
when Mr. Nash and then others

3-5 in Fort Worth. Speaker for
the meeting was the Honorable
Jerry Litton, U.S. Congressman

Those from Woodson attend-
ing the Miss Weatherford
pageant at Weatherford Satur-
day night were Mr. and Mrs.
Marvin Bellah whose daughter,
Cathy, was a contestant, and
Mr. and Mrs. Blue Bellah.
Other family members attend-
ing were Mr. and Mrs. Q.
Whitmire and Rob of Denton,
Mr. and Mrs. John Bain of
Lorenzo, Mr. and Mrs. David
Trammel of Fort Worth, Mr.
and Mrs. Darrel McCrary of
Garland and a friend, Glen
Cooper, of Throckmorton.

Our sympathy is extended to
the family of Mr. Tom Hamilton
who died Thursday, April 10, in
the Throckmorton hospital. His
funeral was held Sunday
afternoon in the Murray Meth-
odist Church with burial in

Murray Cemetery. He was 91
years old. We will all miss him.
Mrs. Mary Peacock, who has
been in Dallas with her
daughter, was here visiting her
sister, Mrs. A. B. Peacock.
Sheryl and Lanny Price of
Lubbock were in Woodson over
the weekend visiting relatives
and friends.
Mrs. Royce Jones and Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Sullivan
went to Ozona Saturday after
receiving word that Linda Sulli-
van Kramer was in the hospital.
Exact cause of her illness was
not determined.
Visiting Mrs. Cora Carpenter
is her daughter and her
husband, the Arnold Crarys of
El Prado, N. M. Also, Mrs.
Carpenter’s sister, Mrs. Ethel
Patterson, is staying with her
for awhile.
WOODSON FHA NEWS

New officers of Woodson
FHA were elected April 8 at a
regular meeting. President is
Jana Hoskins; vice-president,
Tammy Oliver; secretary, Tom-
mi Brockman; treasurer, Cindy
Robinson; reporter, Karen Bel-
lah; parliamentarian, Rebekah
Oakley; historian, Melissa Hur-
ford and Mary Hutchins.
Plans for FHA Week were
also discussed. This year our
field trip will be a trip to Abilene
to visit Hendricks Memorial
Hospital.
Everyone has been busy in
FHA lately. Freshmen are doing
huiue,
are preparing “exotic” dishes;
juniors are doing home plan-
ning; and FHA boys are cooking
and learning to use kitchen
utensils. Everyone is doing
crafts, and have lots of fun.
Well, that’s all for this week.
AGGIE MUSTER - APRIL 21
Former students of Texas
A&M from Throckmorton, Ste-
phens, Shackelford, Eastland,
and Young counties will gather
for the annual Aggie Muster on
Monday, April 21, at Pitcock’s
Camp on Possum Kingdom Lake
beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Aggies from around the world
gather in small and large groups
annually on April 21 to honor
those Aggie -buddies who have
passed on during the year.
The meal -will be served at
7:30 p.m. and the program will
be conducted following, the
meal. Throckmorton and Shack-
leford county Aggies will
conduct the program this year.
All former students are urged
to attend.
