wedding anniversary Saturday
with a dinner given by their
children and grandchildren
The dinner was held at
Shifting Sands Oyster Bar in
Port Aransas Attending with
the honorees were Mr and Mrs
W.T Saint and sons, Ricky of
this city and Tom of Pasadena.
Mr and Mrs D.G. Petrus and
daughter, Kelsey Dian of
Ingleside on the Bay; Mr. and
Mrs. J.D Lankart and children,
Stephen, Hunter, Dwight, and
Theresa of Friendswood Also
Miss Judy Carol Tilbury and
James David Wilcox were
married Tuesday evening in a
twilight ceremony at Our Lady
of the Assumption Catholic
Church in Ingleside.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs Luverna Hayden and
Richard H Tilbury, and the
groom is the son of Mrs Betty
Lou Wilcox, all of Ingleside
Father Gregory Deane of
Goliad assisted by the Rev
W T Morris of the First Baptist
Church of Ingleside officiated
The double ring vows were
taken before an altar decorated
with two large baskets of
gladioli, daisies, carnations and
fern in tall wrought iron stands
Miss Vicky Blankenship was
organist and Mrs. Cynthia
Smith was soloist.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor
length gown of white satin and
lace The lace bodice was fitted
and the long lace sleeves came
to points over the hands,
scallops of lace formed the
square neckline The buffant
skirt was formed with full
ruffled layers of lace to the
floor.
Her veil of illusion bordered
with lace fell from a head piece
of lace and orange blossoms
centered with a satin bow She
carried a bouquet of pearl
orange blossoms centered with
glass flowers and satin roses
with white satin ribbons and
lace
Mrs. Carolina Gonzalez of
Corpus Christi was matron of
honor and Miss Graciela
Barrera of Robstown was maid
of honor They wore Victorian-
style dresses of yellow double
knit with long full skirt and lace
trimmed bodices and cuffs.
They wore matching wide
brimmed hats with yellow satin
ribbons and lace and carried
nosegays of daisies and baby
breath accented with yellow
tulle and yellow bows and
streamers.
The bridesmaids, Miss Mary
Davis and Mrs Tracy Lassiter,
both of Corpus Christi, wore
identical Victorian style dresses
in pink with matching hats and
nosegays

Tilbury of Brookshire and Tina

closed its season Monday night with a record of six wins and no losses. The

CLOSING THE VOLLEYBALL SEASON at Aransas Pass Junior High School Mon-
day night with a season record of three wins and three losses was the eighth
grade team The team is composed of (L-R Front) Lisa Peer, Linda Zamora, Patty
Florea, Janie Mendez, Candy Anderson; (L-R Back) coach Xandra Mathis, Cam
mie Smith, Jackie Ktrkham, Melinda Hanna, Kathy Cooper, and manager Nada
Duzich.
Following the ceremony, the
reception was held at the First
Baptist Church in Ingleside
The bride's table was laid in
white with a lace skirt
garlanded with green and
yellow ribbons Two cupids
formed the center arrangement
with miniature brides in
standing baskets.
After a wedding trip to New
Orleans, the couple will be at
home in Corpus Christi. For her
going away attire, the bride
wore a blue pant suit with
matching blue and brown satin
blouse Her accessories were
brown and she wore a white
feathered carnation corsage
trimmed with gold ribbons
The bride is a graduate of
Mary Carroll High School and
Del Mar Tech The groom is a
graduate of Ingleside High
School.
Besides the local guests
attending, out of town guests
were from Aransas Pass,
Corpus Christi, Amarillo, San
Antonio, Alice, Gonzales, Nur
sery, Beaumont, Sinton, Port-
land. Rockport, Hempstead,
Paige, Houston, Fort Worth,
Hackley. Brookshire, Freeport,
Goliad, Kemah, Marfa, Semi-
nole, Chilton, Rosebud, El Paso,
Bayside, Wichita Falls, Kings-
ville, and Robstown in Texas.
Out of state guests were from
Oklahoma, Louisiana. New
Tork, Florida, California. Mis-
sissippi, and Arkansas

The Lois Circle of the United
Methodist Women held a
meeting Oct 20 in the home of
Mrs. W.J. Schrimpshire Seven
members and one guest were in
attendance.
Mrs. Bob Howery presided
and Mrs LA Nedbalek
presented the lesson, beginning
a study on the Book of Peter.
Delicious refreshments were
served by the hostess during the

SENIOR CITIZENS
NEED CLOTH REMNANTS
Senior Citizen outreach wor-
ker Mrs. Ofelia Garcia is asking
that anyone who has remnants
of material and would like to
give them away donate them to
the Senior Citizen's program for
the Hobby Day activities.
Mrs. Garcia said a large
number of ladies get together
every Tuesday for Hobby Day
and they would like the
remnants to make aprons. Also,
Mrs. Garcia asks that persons
contribute their aluminum
beverage cans to the Senior
Citizens program She said the
cans will be sold to buy supplies
needed for the Hobby Day work

BLOOMING ELEPHANT EARS are a surprise to Mrs
Elva Upton, shown pulling the leaves back on her
plant to show the blooms (in white). Mrs. Upton dis-
covered a bloom last week and now another has come
up and there are signs of the plant putting out two
more blooms. Mrs. Upton said she has never seen a
bloom on an elephant ear plant and was not aware
that they would bloom at all. The bloom is an off white,
almost yellowish color. Mrs. Upton who lives on Kin-
ney Lane is employed at Kieberger Elementary School.
