FILLING STATION GANG
KICKS BACK WITH FOLDER
Christmas cards and more of the
same kind received by the Rambler,
but the Filling Station Gang backed
the entire bunch of good will spread-
ers entirely off the dump.
’Twasn’t a Christmas card from
the start, ’twas a war bulletin, yet it
is so timely and folds up as nice as
a blonde at a cocktail party.
Fine sentiment, well illustrated, and
as large, when unfolded, as a Journal
page. Rambler has shown the “greet-
ing card” to several callers nnd they
have voted it a “special edition of
good will.”
Treat is on us, boys, and we don’t
mean maybe.
Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Ellermann of
Harvey, Louisiana, are numbered with
the many holiday visitors. Mrs. El-
lermann will be remembered as Miss
Stella Janssen.
To The Parents!
Parents, you whose boys have been
called, and you whose boys will be
called to serve our country, be not
as one who has lost hope; remain
steadfast in your faith and lean to
Him who ever watches over the faith-
ful. We, all of us, regret that the
war has come to us, but you must be
brave, and meet the situation. May
God’s blessing be upon you.
MRS. ROBT. VOELKEL
CHRISTMAS VISITORS
Dr. Clay Moore of Hebbronville, Mr.
and Mrs. L. W. Moore and children,
L. W., Jr., and Nita Lou of Houston,
are spending the Christmas holidays
with their relatives, Misses Lyttie
and Lottie Moore.

TEXANS WARNED OF
COUNTERFEIT BILLS
Dallas, Dec. 18.—A warning for
Texans to be on the alert for counter-
feit $5 bills came from Leo Williams,
agent in charge of the Secret Service
with headquarters in Dallas.
He said the first “very deceptive”
notes appeared in El Paso and Ama-
rillo. The face of Lincoln on the bills
is darker than on genuine currency,
Williams said. The counterfeits bear
a red seal and serial number 1928 C,
with A and F alternately and face
plates No. 309 and 299 alternately.
Their back plate number is 888.

Christian Science Services
“Christian Science” is the subject
of the Lesson-Sermon which will be
read in all Churches of Christ, Scien-
tist, on Sunday, December 28.
The Golden Text is: “Heal the sick,
cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast
out devils: freely ye have received,
freely give” (Matthew 10:8).
Among the citations which com-
prise the Lesson-Sermon Is the fol-
lowing from the Bible: “He shewed
me a pure river of water of life, clear
as crystal, proceeding out of the
throne of God and of the Lamb. In
the midst of the street of it, and on
either side of the river, was there the
tree of life” (Revelation 22:1,2).
The Lesson-Sermon also includes
the following passage from the Chris-
tian Science textbook, “Science and
Health with Key to the Scriptures,”
by Mary Baker Eddy: “The Bible
contains the recipe for all healing.
‘The leaves of the tree were for the
healing of the nations.’ ... The tree
is typical of man’s divine Principle,
which is equal to every emergency,
offering full salvation from sin, sick-
ness, and death” (page 406).
