Credit 1-2 Unit.
The subject will be studied under five heads: First,
General Principles of Government; second, Government of
the Colonies and during the Confederation; third, of the
United States; fourth, of the states, with special reference
to Texas; fifth, Some General Doctrines of Muncipal Law.

LATIN
Course A.--Beginners
Fall, Winter, Spring. Daily.
Credit 1 Unit.
(a) With Collar and Daniel's First Year Latin as a
text, the student will be thoroughly drilled in pronunciation,
declension and conjugation. Throughout. the year
there will be daily practice of translating English into
Latin, both written and oral, and constant drill work on
the blackboard.
It will be necessary for the student to master the inflections
before he is allowed to enter upon the more advanced
work. He is also expected to acquire a good working
vocabulary, to which end there will be at stated intervals
lessons involving a review of all words previously used.
One of the objects of this course is to impress upon the
student's mind the ordinary constructions and simpler
idioms, so that he may thus be prepared for the more difficult
work of the grammar.
The student beginning the study of Latin should have
a thorough knowledge of English Grammar, especially being
familiar with the forms of speech, declensions and conjuga64
