with 10 beds, an open adult

units are for patients 18
years of age-and older

patients between 12 and 17

Mrs. Lyons was born on
June 30, 1891, .in Bushnell
El., the third in a family of
four children. Her father
owned an ice supply com
pany. The land on which
they lived had a 714-acre
pond from which her father
would cut blocks of ice
which he or his 12 crewmen
would deliver to residents

Mrs. Lyons remembers
she and her brothers would
ice skate for hours. Drivers
of the icewagons would look
after her and make sure her
skates were kept in sharp
condition
Her sister’s father-in-law
was responsible for chang-
ing her life and bringing her
to Texas. He had read a
newspaper article about
Texas and decided to travel
to toe big state. When he
returned to Illinois, all he years
could talk about was Texas
Her sister and brother-in-
law thought it would be
adventurous to live
first “dedicated her life'll*

in Goose Creek. ’

members of the First Bap-
tist Church and a charter
member of the Woman’s
Missionary Union.
Christmas is a special
time for Mrs. Lyons and she
commented that
youngsters today don’t
seem to be satisfied with
what they have.
She also has observed
that people don’t visit their
neighbors^! they should. ”
