Plans are under way for a reunion for Robert E. Lee
High School band members from 1970 to 1979.
This event is scheduled for Jan. 27, 1996, at the
Monument Inn. Admiring one of the band’s numer-
ous trophies are reunion planning committee mem-
bers, from left, Ed Hardy, 79; Leslie Bryant Alford,
79; Willie Moreno, 74; Bruce Kennedy, 76; Steven
Fischesser, 74; and Jim Jackson, 76. Other com-
mittee members include Marilyn Mitchell Kapalske,
72; Lynn Roberts, 73; Mary Funderburk Jackson,
75; Priscilla James Woolford, 75; Angela Hefner
Swart, 76; and Jeannie Lankford, 77. The next
planning meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Sept.
21, at the LHS band hall. All band members from
1970-79 are welcome to attend. For more informa-
tion, contact Priscilla Woolford at 428-7725.
Going’s Barbeque sponsored the Baytown Division
of the American Heart Walk’s company leader
Kick-off party (orientation) at 5:30 pm. on Aug. 8
Lori Smith, left, and Leila Bates, right, co-chairper-
sons, thank Doug Going, center, for providing din-
ner and a meeting facility for the orientation meet-
ing. The rally, held at Going’s Barbeque, was the
second major planning event for the walk. There
were more 30 in attendance.
