Circle Number Three of the
White Oak Missionary Baptist
Church inet in the home of Mrs.
C. L. Shoupe on Monday, Septem-
ber seventh, at 2 p. m. The living
room was beautifully decorated
with arrangements of polished
magnolia leaves.
Mi£. Roy Bolt, president, was
in charge of the business meeting.
Mrs. Ollic Pearson led the group
in the opening prayer. The min-
utes were read by the secretary,
Mrs. G. C. Ott, and the sick report
was given.
The new business was the elec-
tion of Circle officers for the com-
ing year. Mrs. C. L. Shoupe was
elected teacher; Mrs. Joe Bander,
assistant teacher; Mrs. Ray Bolt,
president; Mrs. Joe B. Wilson, Sr.,
vice president; Mrs. G. C. Ott,
secretary; and Mrs. L. F. Craw-
ford, assistant secretary. The flow-
er committee will remain the
same as it was for the previous

Gives Devotional
For WMA Group
The, W.M.A. of the Emmanuel
Baptist Church of White Oak met
for their regular meeting on Mon-
day evening, September seventh,
at 7:30.
Mrs. L. V. Murray presided over
the meeting in the absence of the
W.M.A. secretary. Mrs. Wayt. Mrs.
Murray gave an interesting devo-
tion on “Loving Jesus,” taken from
the, 21st Chapter and the 15th
verse of the book of John.
The minutes were read and the
treasurer's re|>ort was given by
the secretary, Mrs. D. W. Gee.
Mrs. Alexander was elected
Bible Study chairman and Mrs.
Edgar Smith Mission Study chair-
man.
A special prayer was given at
this time for Mrs. Jewell Greg-
ory who has been very ill. Mrs.
Gregory is a member of the
W.M.A. Group.
The meeting was closed with
sentence prayers by each one pres-
ent for the church pastor. Present
were Mrs. L. V. Murray. Grand-
mother Cole. Mrs. Roy Harvey,
Mrs. Edgar Smith. Mrs. D. W. Gil-
bert and Mrs. D. W. Gee.

took charge of the lesson which
was on the third enupter of First
! Timothy, and each one present
gave a memory verse and told
where it was found. Each one had

Mrs. Joe B. Wilson, Sr. will be
hostess to the circle on Monday,
September 14th when the fourth
chapter of First Timothy will be
studied.
Mrs. Wilson dismissed the group
with prayer.
At this time Mrs. Shoupe invit-
ed the group on the lawn where
she served ice cold water melon
to Mrs. Ollie Bearson of Ozark,
Arkansas, Mrs. Carl Young, Mrs.
C. L. Shoupe, Mrs. G. C. Ott, Mrs.
Joe Wilson, Mrs. Roy Bolt, Mrs.
Georgia Tuttle, and Mrs. L. F.

Mr. and Mrs. Levi Lyman have
returned from St. Louis, Mo.,
where they attended the National
Convention of the American Le-
gion and Auxiliary, which opened
Monday, August 31. The parade
was held on Tuesday, but because
of the heat, 1500 units failed to
■ march.
The Lymans also took a six-
| hour cruise on the Mississippi and
; saw the St. Louis Brown and
Washington Senators play ball.
Another highlight war seeing a
• basketball game between the
Harlem Globetrotters and the All
Stars, a white team.

Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Rerry re-
turned home from Norphlet, Ark.,
Tucsdav. after visiting his sister,
Mrs. Amy Williams.
Mr and Mrs. Alton Berry and
daughters of Carrolton. near Dal-

here. Mr. Berry was admitted to
the City Hospital Monday for a
medical check-up.

to the City Hospital for medical
treatment.

day morning for Jacksboro, where
he will work for a few days.
