just dropped from 4A to 3A and
two others (Alvarado and
Abilene Wylie) have enrollments
that would have moved them
into 4A if the upper limits of the
3A bracket would not have been
adjusted upward. In fact, Llano’s
enrollment ties it for 13/14 with
Glen Rose, ahead of only Merke,
Ballinger, and Brady. Llano will
be the tenth band to perform at
2:45 p.m.
Judges were Charlie Munsell
of Smithson Valley, Mike Marsh
of Howe, and Sheryl Cyrus of
Wichita Falls. Each section of
the band was completed at some
point in the written and taped
critiques. Other comments in-
cluded “hard drill, well done,”
“great color guard,” “fine show
design,” and “very entertaining.”
Directors for the Yellow Jacket
Band are Wilburn Meier, Carol
Meier, and Forrester Halamicek
(who was director for the first
year of the current streak and
has rejoined the staff this year).
The color Guard is choreo-
graphed and instructed by
