The movie starts in 1935
on a cold w intry da> in Palo
Pinto. Texas where two old
geezers. pla>ed b> Roy Clark
and Mel Tillis are play ing
dominos at the local saloon
A Frontier Times reporter
wanders in and inquires
about a gun fight that
happened in the late IKOO's
A man in the bar refers him
to the geezers As they relate
the story of the gunfight we
jump back into time and to
see the gurtfight with two
Texas Rangers who have
pinned down a fugitive.
Smilin' Rob and his gang
After the rangers subdue
him. the older Ira Landers
confides in the younger
Ranger. Ben Crowder that he
needs to retire and take care
of his son. In a deadly
ambush, arranged by Shane
Stockstcal. a fellow Texas
Ranger turned bad. Ira is
killed
Stockstcal leaves the
Rangers under suspicion of
having something to do w ith
Ira's death and gets elected
sheriff of Palo Pinto.
Eventually he yields to the
temptation of robbing and
murdenng an old miner who
has struck gold outside town
Overcome by greed and lust
. Stockstcal kills another
Ranger, Capt. Johyn
MacIntyre who it
investigating the miner's
death Although mortally

back to his farm where he

Llano High School FCCLA is collecting baby items for families in need of such materials
Items are being collected in recognition of National Children's Dav The drive is being
held October 11*’ -15*
If y ou have, or know of anyone w ho has new or gently used baby items, a collection is
being taken at Llano High School. Fuel and Super S Foods Questions should be directed to

Items being accepted arc clothing, small furniture, blankets, diaper bags, bath essentials,
bottles, diapers, toys, books, etc
The Uano Chamber of Commerce welcomed Brandon Baker and 11X Tree
Services to their membership. As you can see, it was a Texas-sized ribbon-sawing!
Baker has been in the landscaping business since he was a teenager. He grew up
in Uano and has returned to establish his business here and be close to family.
