Too Good To Be Missed By 3-R Set
This is the type of breakfast that comes to school to be eaten
by the 3-R set before books are opened. Many a child hurries off
with little or no breakfast — a meal too important to be missed —
to catch a bus or ride. Teachers now encourage these children to
bring food which can be eaten easily upon arrival.
Once outdoors, children's appetites quicken and they are “starved”
by school time. Shown in the photo is a breakfast for eating without
fuss or extra dishes. The whole wheat sandwich with tasty filling
goes hand-in-hand with a hot beverage. Slices of buttered cinnamon
bread add something sweet. Fruit and a hard-cooked egg round out
the before-school pick-up.
Orange-Cream Cheese Sandwich %
12 slices whole wheat bread
1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese
. cup orange marmalade
Spread cream cheese on six slices of bread. Top with orange
marmalade and then cover with remaining bread slicea.
Yield: 6 Orange Cream Cheese Sandwiches.
