Lydia Munos, 63, of
Highlands, Texas went
to be with our Lord on
Tuesday, August 30,2016
peacefully at her home.
She was bom December
2, 1952 in Baytown Tex-
as.
Lydia was an extraor-
dinary woman who loved
God and loved her family.
She was a very devoted
prayer partner who was
always excited to share
her strong faith in God
with all no matter what
your church affiliation
was. She was a dedicat-
ed wife, mother, grand-
mother, sister, aunt, cous-
in and friend. She was
most proud of her greatest
gift from God, her three
beautiful grandchildren
who were her pride and
joy-
She also enjoyed watch-
ing MeTV which brought
back lots of memories
of good clean television
from back when she was
younger. She loved to
chat on the phone, get her
hair and nails done and
her occasional bus trips to
the Casinos.
She was preceded in
death by her parents Isa-
bel and Julia Hernandez
and sister Ester Gutierrez.
She is survived by her
loving husband of 47
years, Felix Munos Sr;
children, Angela Mu-
nos ; Theresa Munos of
Highlands; Felix Mu-
nos Jr. and wife Julie of
Baytown; Melanie Mason
and husband James of
Highlands; grandchildren,
Julissa Cabrera; Abigail
Munos and Felix,Jvluftos
III of Baytown; sister,
Janie Flores of Highlands;
brother, Paul Hernandez
of Baytown and numerous
nieces, nephews, cousins,
and God children.
Honoring the family as
pallbearers will be Johnny
Hernandez, Jorge Contre-
ras, Rodney Sebren, Cul-
lan Bryce Sayers, Derek

Hopper
Bettie Ruth “Honey”
Hopper, age 88, died
peacefully on August 31,
2016. She was bom on
May 1, 1928, in Mays-
ville, Oklahoma, to her
parents Ig Treat and Myr-
tle King.
Raised in Highlands,
Bettie Ruth spent the
majority of her life in
Baytown, Texas, graduat-
ing from Robert E. High
School and marrying
her childhood neighbor
and the love of her life,
W. C. “Sonny” Hopper.
She faithfully worked
at Goose Creek ISD for
over 20 years and was a
member of the First Bap-
tist Church of Highlands,
where she sang in the
choir next to her beloved
husband, Sonny. Bettie
Ruth eventually moved
to and settled in the Aus-
tin area to be closer to her
family.
Known as “Honey”
Bettie Ruth was a kind
and giving wife, mother,
sister, grandmother and
friend who loved nothing
more than to ensure her
loved ones had a full and
happy belly.
Honey had impeccable
style and taste, but her
greatest joy in life was to
laugh; making sure ev-
eryone around her was
having a good time. Her
infectious laugh, loving
affection and her deli-
cious meals will be sorely
missed.
She is survived by her
sister, Jimmie Tyree and
brother-in-law, Jim Tyree;
sisters-in-law, Jean Treat,
Betty Hopper and Pat
Hopper; daughters, Jill
Hopper and Jan Carlson;
grandchildren, Clint Grif-
fin, Kelji Cleveland, Cade
Watkins, Cara Watkins
and Cayce Watkins; and
great grandsons, Luke,
Thomas, Stevie, Jonathan
and Alex.
Bettie Ruth Hopper is
preceded in death by her
mother, Myrtle, and her
father, Ig; brother, Joe
Treat; sister, Peggy Brew-
er; and husband, W. C.
Hopper.
The family will receive
friends from 12pm to 1pm
on Tuesday, September 6,
2016, at Highlands First
Baptist Church 210 N
Magnolia St, Highlands,
TX 77562. A funeral ser-
vice will follow at 1pm,
with Reverend Tim Ed-
wards officiating. Burial
will follow at Memory
Gardens Cemetery. The

Tina was bom in Jen-
nings, Louisiana on Sep-
tember 2, 1956 to the
late Frankie Julia Labit
LaCombe and Herbert
LaCombe. She graduated
from Deweyville High
School in 1975. Tina was
a minister alongside her
husband, Ben at the Light
House Church in Neder-
land, Texas. She was also
a loving wife, mother and
grandmother, who will be
greatly missed.
Tina was preceded in
death by her parents,
daughter Misty Townley,
brother Clay LaCombe
and sister Angie Richard.
She is survived by her
husband Ben Williams of
Nederland, TX, one son,

Ronald Walter Fisher,
age 69, of Baytown, Tex-
as, left this world to be by
the side of his Savior on
Tuesday, August 30, 2016
after a lengthy illness.
Ronald was bom to
Robert and Grace Fisher
on December 16, 1946 in
Highlands, Texas.
He attended Robert E.
Lee High School and was
a long-term employee of
the Texas Department of
Transportation.
Ronald was a devoted
member of Peace Taber-
nacle, Church and later,
Harvest Temple Ministries
70’s, when CB radio was
popular, his “handle” was
the “Dr. Pepper Kid”.
Ronald faced more
challenges than most
throughout his life, but
you wouldn’t know it from
what he accomplished.
Even when experienc-
ing debilitating health is-
sues in his later years, if
pressed, he would tell you,
but quickly follow up with
“...besides that, I’m doing
alright.”
Ronald’s life was very
much enriched by his
church families, friends
who loved him and sup-
ported him throughout his
lifetime.
The family is also grate-
ful for a very special per-
son, Dr. William L. Atchi-
son, who was like a father
to Ronald for as long as
anyone can remember.
Ronald is preceded in
death by his parents and
his sister, Opal Louise
Sanders.
He is survived by his
sister, Bobbye Ruth Fish-
er Irwin and her husband,
Jim, of Liberty, Texas, and
sister, Bennie Jean Fish-
er of Austin, Texas. He
has numerous nieces and
nephews, and we all will
miss his one-of-a-kind
personality and antics.

passed away on August
31,2016.

Kieth was born in
Baytown, Texas on De-
cember 2, 1962 to the late
Richard Rodney Jack-
son and Lou Ellen Coker
Jackson. He graduated
from Robert E. Lee High
School in 1981.
Kieth * was married
to Christen M. Jackson
(Howell) on July 1, 2006;
they were married 10
years.
Kieth worked as a rig
welder for most of his
adult life and was current-
ly employed with S-Con
Services located in Bryan,
Texas. Kieth and his wife
also owned and operated
TNT Septic Pumping out
of Tomball, Texas. He en-
joyed working and spend-
ing time with his family.
Kieth is survived by his
wife', Christen M. Jackson
and five children; Joshua
L. Jackson, Kameron K.
Jackson and wife Khori;
Kelli L. Jackson; Preston
L. Jackson and Karson L.
Jackson; four grandchil-
dren, Tyler and Jordan
Jackson. Khalie and Ken-
nedi Jackson; his mother

folk group dies
WESTON, Conn. (AP)
— Fred Hellerman, a
founding member of the
influential folk music quar-
tet the Weavers, has died.
He was 89. Hellerman died
Thursday at his home in
Weston, Connecticut after a
lengthy illness.
The Weavers were
formed in the late 1940s by
Hellerman along with Pete
Seeger, Lee Hays and Ron-
nie Gilbert. They helped to
popularize folk music in
the United States with re-
cordings including “Good-
night Irene” and “On Top
of Old Smoky.”
