NEW SEWER cleaning bucket machine taking sand from 10
inch sewer line on Third Street at Vermont Avenue. This
10 inch sanitary sewer line on Third Street has 7 to 8
inches of sand in the line for several blocks. This sand de-
posit was caused by old concrete sewer lines caving in be-
fore they were replaced under the Urban Renewal program
by T. H. Lee Construction Company early this year.

Genuine appreciation of
the sacrifice and triumph of
Christ Jesus must be ex-
pressed in daily living.
This is a theme of the
Lesson-Sermon on “Sacra-
ment” to be presented at the
semi-annual communion
service in Christian Science
churches Sunday.
Paul's charge to Timothy,
“Watch thou in all things,
endure afflictions, do the
work of an evangelist, make
full proof of thy ministry”
(11 Tim. 4), will be included
in the Bible readings.
A correlative citation
from “Science and Health
with Key to the Scriptures”
by Mary Baker Eddy states:
“To keep the commandments
of our Master and follow his
example, is our proper debt
to him and the only worthy
evidence of our gratitude for
all that he has done” (p. 4).

Begin Shopping
Tours At Home
And Save Time
You can save money, time,
energy and sometimes your
temper by beginning your
shopping trips at home ac-
cording to Jimmie LouWain-
scott, Home Demonstration
Agent Hidalgo Co.
For example, in shopping
for the food for the family,
you can do these things at
home while sitting in your
favorite easy chair.
Plan menus for a week or
more in advance... This will
save time in actual shopping,
and in meal preparation later
because the decision of
“What to fix for supper” is
already made, and supplies
are on hand.
Study food ads in the local
papers... Comparing food
costs “before” marketing is
both economical and time-
saving.
Make shopping list ac-
< i-R •• j
cording to menu plans and
food on hand... Knowing what
you need before you leave
home will save time and
energy. It will also help you
avoid costly “impulse buy-
ing.”
“Time” your buying...
Whenever possible avoiding
rush hours will help save
time and energy.
Use store services, such
as telephone and delivery
services, in shopping for
food when time is at a pre-
mium.
Consider using milk and
bread routes... This will
save time and energy spent
in extra trips to store and
added cost may not be more
than added cost of extra
trips.
Keep pads of paper and
pencil handy for making a
“want list”. Add to list as
you use up some item so you
won't forget to get it. This
may save a trip to neighbor's
or to store.
