V E. Korski honored for contributions
in the field of aerospace lighting
Victor E. Korski of the Crew Station Design group was
honored recently by the Aerospace Lighting Institute
(ALI) for contributions he has made to crew station light-
ing technologies for U.S. aircraft.
He was nominated to receive the ALI's First Annual Ap-
preciation Award by his colleagues in the lighting profes-
sion. The award was presented to Korski at a luncheon
held in his honor during an ALI seminar in Los Angeles.
Korski has been associated with General Dynamics for
47 years in assignments at Fort Worth, San Diego and
overseas. He has worked on crew station lighting systems
for the T-29, C-131, F-102, F-106, Convair 880, Convair 990,
F-Ill and F-16 aircraft.
He has also worked on the instrumentation and elec-
trical power systems of several "non-lighted" aircraft
types, including the B-24, C-87 and XF-92A. (The
XF-92A, an experimental aircraft, was the first airplane
to fly with a delta wing.)
He holds several patents and has done extensive research
in cockpit lighting.
Korski is a member of the Illumination Engineering So-
ciety (IES) and has served on the cockpit lighting com-
mittee of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
