of the second day, the Com-

full privilege and enjoyment o'f
the Camp, and its hospitalities,
turned all loose to roam and
ramble at will, and that later on
Mr. W. D. Pittman, the popular
jeweler and optician, of Mexia,
would entertain the crowd with
an exhibition of his graphophone,

who .had kindly come by invita-
tion to assist in making the re-
union as enjoyable as possible.
Which imaginary concert by the
graphophone was highly appre-
ciated and enjoyed by all, and
there being.no other entertain-
ment for the day, they kept our
friend Pittman and his talking
machine on duty until the troop
became hoarse, as well as the
jolly and talkative audience.
Just at this ..time, the /Prairie
Grove Band boys, who had pre'-
viously entertained the large au-
dience with several pieces of
their delightful music, seemed to
a little jealous of
Pittman and his talking machine,
when the Commander called a
halt and bade the band boys ‘ to

Our friend W. D. Pittman, with
his graphophone, and the band
boys entertained the crowd dur
ing the day and night.
This being the day for the
main business of the Encamp-
ment, the Camp met at 5 p. m.,
and elected for the ensuing
year the following officers: *
Commander—G. T. Bradley. .
1st Lieut-Commander—J. C.
Anderson^
2nd Lieut-Commander—Chas.
A. Steen.
3rd Lieut-Commander—M. H.
Harris. ..
Adjutant—A. G. Anderson.

Surgeon—Dr. W. N. Sneed.
Chaplain—Rev. E. J. Brown.
Executive Committee—A- 'T-

Memorial Committee—A. G.

T. G. Blaokmon.
The hereinafter resolutions
were introduced and unanimous-
ly adopted. The (jlamp adjourn-
ed until the evening of ‘v ’ *
day to receive the reports of the
Treasurer, and Finance Commit-
at noon all seemed to be weary
and somewhat fagged out, got
their dinner, rested, and at 2 p.
m., they again took up the march
to rove and ramble until the
foot-race drew near, which was
won by Oscar Abbott.
The whipporwills and bullbats
beginning to circulate, suggest-
ed to the throng that supper
was awaiting them, so all went
hither and thither, and as the
darkness took possession of
the space and air, lights were
turned on, and the bfind assem-
bled and made the welcome ring
with their sweet and charming
music until the hour arrived for
Mrs. Wright, and her two beau-
tiful and charming nieces, the
Misses^Miller, Bettie and Pearl,
and nephew, Master Alfred Mil-
ler, all of Henderson county, and
relatives of the floweth brothers,
who, by special invitation, had
agreed to help the Encampment
out by giving an entertainment
on the last night. The young
ladies played several charming
pieces on the piano, and sang
several beautiful songs, all of
which was well done, and pleas-
ed beyond expression the large
audience in attendance. It was
appearant to all, especially mu-
sicians, that the performer* had
been drilled by a skilled and ex-
pert pianist and musician. The
Camp tenders their many thanks
to Mrs. Wright and her pretty
nieces, and bid them come again.
The best and most profitable
part of it is, that Fairfield will
in all/ probability lose, or get rid
for a time at least, of some of
her boys. This highly enter-
taining concert closed the fun
and pleasure making for the
Camp.
The Finance Committee, hav-
ing settled up all the debs and
obligations, reported the Camp
was short about $30.00, when it
was suggested that a committee
go through the audience and
take up a collection to meet it,
and in a short time, the commit-
