Fibroid Tumors Cured
Note the result of Mrs.
Pinkham’s advice and medicine.
“ Some time ago I wrote to'you de-
scribing my symptoms and asked your
advice. Tou replied, and I followed
all your directions carefully, and to-
f day 1 am a well woman.
“ The use of Lydia E. Pink ham’s
Vegetable Compound entirely ex-
pelled the tumor and strengthened
my whole system. I cru walk miles
now.
“Lydia E. Blnkliam’s Vege-
table Compound is worth five dol-
lars a drop. I advise all women who
are afflicted with tumors os female
trouble of any kind to give it a faithful
trial.” — (Signed) Mbs. E. F. Uaykb.

Mountain* of gold could not
purchase such testimony — or
take the place of the health
and happiness which Lydia E.
Pinkham’s VegctablcCompound
brought to Mrs. Hayes.
Such testimony should be accepted
by all women as convincing evidence
that Lydia E. Plnkliam’s Vege-
table Compound stands without a
peer as a remedy for all the distress-
’ nig Ills of women ; all ovarian troubles;
tumors; inflammations; ulceration,
falling and displacement of the womb ;
backache; irregular, suppressed or
painful menstruation. Surely the
volume and character of the testimo-
nial letters we are daily printing in
the newspapers ean leave no room for
doubt in the minds of fair people.
Oftf-TIm© School Barbarism.
For pentarles cock-fighting was on
cou raged in English schools. Fitts-
Stephen in the twelfth centurk irieii
tlons it as an amusement of London-
ers and that yearly at Shrovetide the
boys of every school brought cocks to
their schoolmasters aiid all the fore-
noon was spent in school witnessing
these birds fight. As late as 1780 the
income of the schoolmaster of Apple-
cross. in Ross-shire, .was drawn par-
tially from cock-fight dues. Down to
1815, at lea*t, there was an annual ex-
hibition of cock-fighting at the Man

Claim Cakewalk la French
The French have found a reason for [
the popularity of the cakewalk In I
Paris. The thing Is French! One of
the negroes at the Nouveau Cirque, In-
terviewed by a Paris paper, says that
the origin of the dancje was French.
According to this latest acoount, some
of the French refugees from the court
of Marie Antoinette Introduced the
minuet Into New Orleans about the
time of the Revolution, and It was the
native Imitation of the most fashion-
able dance In Europe that was after-
ward developed Into the cakewalk.

Why Du Chaillu Was a Bachelor.
The late Paul du Chlllu was on one
occasion asked why he had never
married. "Well, once upon a time,"
he answered, without a smile, “ an old
African king who Was very fond of me
offered me my choice of 853 women
as a wife. ‘ Your majesty,’ I replied,
‘If I should marry one of these beau-
ties of youre there would be 852 Jeal-
ous women here.’ ‘Well,’ replied the
king, ‘that Is easily settled. Take
them all. That was a little too strong
for me. however, and, as I have never
had such a field to choose from since,
I am still a bachelor."

Peculiar Accident to Girl.
Miss Gussie Mass, of Omaha, while
combing her hair, gave her head a
sudden toss. Then she found that
her head was turned sideways and
that she couldn't get It back. She
laughingly said she had a “crick in
her neck.” Presently she began to
suffer great pain and a doctor was
sent for. It didn’t take him long to
discover that the girl had disjointed
her neck. It took two surgeons, aided
by two strong men, to pull the verte-
bra back in place. Had the disloca-
tion occurred one Joint further' dowu
the girl would have been killed.

MERICA is the land of nerr
vous women.
The great majority of ner-
vous women are so because they
are suffering frbm some form of female
disease. *
Mrs. Emma Mitchell, 520 Louisiana
street, Indianapolis, Ind., writes:'
“Peruna has certainly been a blessing
in disguise to me, for when I first began
taking it for troubles peculiar to the sex
and a generally worn out gystein, I had
little faith.
“For the past five years 1 have
rarely been without pain, but Pe-
runa has changed all this, and in
a very short time. 1 think / had
only taken two bottles before 1
began to recuperate very quickly,
and seven bottles made me well.
I do not have headache or back-
ache any mote, and have some In-
terest. In life. I give all credit
where It Is due, and that Is to Pe-
runa.— Emma Mitchell.
By far the greatest number of female
troubles are caused directly by catarrh.
WSAA/S/VWWWVAAAAAAAAA/i
They are catarrh of the organ which is
affected. These women despair of re-
covery. Female trouble is so common, so
prevalent, that they accept it as almost in-
evitable. The greatest obstacle in the way
of recovery is that they do not understand
that it is catarrh which is thesourceof their
illness. In female complaint, ninety-nine
cases out of one hundred are nothing but
catarrh. Peruna cores catarrh wherever
located.
Chronic invalids who have languished for
years on sick beds with some form of female
disease begin to improve at once after be-
ginning Dr. Hartman’s treatment.
Among the many prominent women who
recommend Peruna are:—Belva Lockwood,
of Washington, D. C.; Mrs. Col. Hamilton,
of Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. F. E. Warren, wife
of U. S. Senator Warren, of Wyoming.
If you do not derive prompt and satisfac-
tory results from the use of Peruna, write
at once to Dr. Hartman, giving a full state-
ment of your case, and he will he pleased
to give you his valuable advice gratis.
