BAPTISMAL RITES
Bryan Scat, little son of Mr. and
Mrs. Bobbie Lee Rosenbaum of
Houston received the holy rites of
baptism during church service at
10:30 a.m. Sunday morning, Nov.4.
in the Carmine Martin Luther Lu-
theran Church, with Rev. A. M.
Hannemann performing the ries.
Sponsors were Mrs. Claude
Mattingly of Jasper, Ronald Wayne
Braun of Carmine, and Rudie Ro-
senbaum of Burton. Dinner was
served at the home of his grand-
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Erich Braun
to the sponsors and immediate
families.
BALL GAME
The RTC Cubs and Cubbettes
played at Dime Box Tuesday night,
Oct. 30 with Dime Box. The Cubs
won their game 45 to 53 and the
Cubbettes lost their second game
45 to 54.
Friday night, Nov. 2, the Cubs
and the Cubbettes played with
Wealder in the Carmine gym and
the Cubs lost their first game of
the season, 51 to 53. The Cub-
bettes won 42 to 26, their second
win of the season.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Braun spent
a couple of days in Houston with
Mr. and Mrs. Willie zapp and Gary.
Mr. and Mrs. Gus Manigk of
Dallas and Mrs. Annie Wagner of
Brenham, visited their aunt and
uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Braun
last Saturday.
Mrs. E. A. Eckert spent several
days in Houston with her children,
Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz Eckert also
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Eckert and
children.
The La Grange Jaycees met
Monday night, Nov. 5, at the La
Grange State Bank meeting room
and enjoyed a film on the “Trail
of the Vrtiite-tailed Deer in Texas.”
The film was arranged by Law
rence Adamcik and shown through
the courtesy of the Texas Game
and Fish Commission.
In the business session, Lloyd
Kolbe was appointed chairman of
a committee to arrange for two
talent acts to enter the Giddings
Jaycees Variety Show on Nov. 29.
J. C. Holubec was named to
head a committee to inaugurate
plans for the organization’s year-
ly Christmas Home Lighting con-
test.
Anaher committee, to be head-
ed by John Rhodes and Les Smith,
is to see about an entry in the
Veterans’ day parade on Nov.12.
Reports revealed that the con-
cession stand at the Fair Grounds
did a profitable business during
the baseball season and that Lad-
ies night sponsored recently by
the group was a success.
A letter of appreciation was
read from the Rural Area De-
velopment group thanking the Jay-
cees for serving coffee at their
Oct. 10 meeting. The Schulen-
burg and Flatonia Jaycees also
helped the local group.
John Lanfer,. member of the
organization for a number of years,
was given a. certificate of recog-
nition for his services. John has
moved to Austin.
The name of Ike Petras was drawn
for the attendance aw£rd. He was
not present so the amount of $19
is carried over until the Dec-
