The West Point Home Demon-
stration Club will meet Nov. 14
at 2 p.m. in the home of Mrs.
E. R. Young. The meeting is being
held one week earlier this month.
IN VA HOSPITAL
Walter Schroeder is now in V.
A. Hospital, Houston, where he is
underwent surgery Tuesday. Mrs.
Schroeder is in Houston with him.
While their parents are away,
their sons Kenneth and Douglas are
staying with their AUNT AND Unci
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Penksa. Mr.
Schroeder‘s address is Veterans
Administration Hospital, Ward
105, Housron.
PERSONALS
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tanecka and
family of Pasadena stoppd for a
short visit with his parents Mr.
and Mrs. J. A. Tanecka Friday.
Then they drove to San Marcos
whee Patsy Talasek attends Col-
lege and took her with them to
Temple where they spent the week-
end with their aunt and uncle, the.
William Talaseks.
On their return trip they spent
Sunday night in the Tanecka home
silver 25 on top. At night the
guests enjoyed dancing toaprivate
dance for which Henry Brosch
Orchestra provided the music.

SUP PRISE PARTY
A St. John senior student, Judy
Evanicky, was pleasantly sur-
prised by her classmates, friends
and relatives on her 17th birthday
Saturday evening. The party was
held at the K.J.T. Hall in Fayette-
ville and a Halloween theme was
carried out.
After Judy opened the many
beautiful gifts, lunch consisting oI
chicken salad and ham sandwiches.

The Fayetteville HD Club met
for its October meeting with Mrs.

over the meeting.
Achievement Day was discussed
which was attended by Mrs. Chas.
Stoelke and Mrs. Frank Pagel
County HD Agent Mrs. Nettie Freu-
denberg gave a demonstration on
how to make a delicious casser-
ole dish which was served at the
seated luncheon following the bus-
iness session.

Thanks to Mrs. Elfices Geb-
hard of Houston for her renewal
to The Journal.
ATTEND SILVER WEDDING
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Stoelke
o( here, Mrs. Hilda Stoelke of
C olumbus and Mrs. Elfices Geb-
hard of Houston attended the 25th
wedding anniversary of their cou-
sins, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Herm-
sdorfer of Brenliam Sunday after-
noon, Nov. 4.
A chicken barbecue supper with
all the trimmings was served to
about 500 guests. The table was
decorated with silver leaves and
red carnations. The cake was a

INJURES HAND
Johnny Foss, brother of William
Foss, suffered a severely lacera-
ted hand while at work last week.
After visiting here with relatives
recently, he and Mrs. Foss re-
turned to their home in Winnie.
Immediately, they were trans-
fereed to Baytown. The accident
occured on his first day in the new
position.

day in Houston with relatives.
