Lady Jackets throttle Ingram
After losing by double digits to
Fredericksburg and Brady, Llano
got to return the favor last Thurs-
day against Ingram.
The Lady Jackets won their
first district contest of the season
(1-2) beating Ingram 24-3 at
home in five innings.
Jordanna Miiller got the win
pitching all five innings. Miiller
struck out five in the game.

Jackets rip Brady, 14-1,
roll past Ingram, 7-3
After two district, games, the
Llano Yellow Jacket baseball
team is undefeated after 10-run
ruling Brady, J4-1, Tuesday and
beating Ingram, 7-3, Thursday.
Tuesday, the Jackets used great
pitching and strong defense com-
bined with a nine-run third inning
to overpower Brady.
Walker Van Item hurled a one-
hitter, striking out nine batters to
collect the win. He threw 66
pitches, 50 of which were strikes.
Will Carpenter led things off at
the plate, going 3-4 with a triple
and two RBIs. In the high-scor-
ing third inning, Joey Fulton
started off with a single. He was
followed by David Hoskins, who
walked. Later, T.M. Bunnell
doubled to bring in two runs and
Van Item walked. Bryan Hill
scored an RBI with a single and
Carpenter singled, bringing in
Van Item. Scott Brownlee then
swatted an RBI double. After the
Jackets had batted around, Fulton
and Hoskins reached base again
and this time, Bunnell slugged a
• triple to account for the nine runs.
Brady scored is lone run in the
fourth inning.
Thursday, the Jackets hosted
Ingram. Scott Brownlee went all
seven inning on the mound, strik-
ing out six batters and giving up
just two runs. He three a total of
74 pitches, 61 strikes and just 13
balls as the Jackets committed
just one error.
At the plate, Llano picked up
seven hits, including a pair of
doubles from Carpenter and
Bu
put one on base with an error,
Llano scored two runs. Carpen-
ter hit a fly to center and reached
on the outfielder error. Kyle Hopf
walked and hits by Brumfield and
Brownlee scored the two.
Llano added one run in the bot-
tom of the third. Hopf reached on
a single but was picked off on a
fielders choice from a hit by
Brumfield to left. He scored on a
passed ball. In the fourth. Llano
increased the lead by one ore run
when Van Item walked and
scored when Hill hits a drive to
right field. Later, however,
Brumfield hit into a double play
ending the inning.
The Jackets would make it 6-0
in the bottom half of the fifth
when Bunnell hit a drive back
through and Fulton was hit by a
pitch. Bunnell scored on a wild
pitch and Fulton came in on an
RBI single by Van Item past the
second baseman.
The Jackets committed three
errors in the sixth, allowing
Ingram to score three runs. But,
after Hopf scored in the bottom
of the inning. Llano sent Ingram
away in three to end the game in
the top of the seventh - a ground
out to short, a strike-out and a pop
up to third.
Tuesday, the Jackets took on
Wimberley (after press time), the
only other unbeaten in the dis-
trict. They will travel to Bandera
Friday for a 7 p.m. game.

game was cut short due to the 10-
run rule.
Llano faced Wimberly in
Wimberley last night, and the
Lady Jackets travel to Bandera
Friday to begin the second round
of district play.
