Little Molly went missing on Sunday, March 6. She was
taken to the Christ-Yoder Animal Shelter where she was
featured in The Llano News pet of the week as Lil* Orphan
Annie. She was then adopted shortly after. We are certain
that Lil' Annie is our Molly. We will happily reimburse you
for the money you have spent on her adoption and what-
ever expenses you have paid for. We have tried to find
you, but because of Christ-Yoder's privacy act, we are not
able to contact you. Contact David Wolfe at 512-476-5534,

to go buy them. Instead, the tfiief
will steal guns during burglaries
and sell them cheap to other
criminals or trade them for drugs.
England and Australia have
made gun ownership practically
impossible for the law-abiding
citizen. Laws were passed; guns
were turned in and destroyed. The
big problem with that situation is
the criminals did not turn their
guns in with everyone else.
Now, since the criminals are
virtually guaranteed that their
victims have no real way to de-
fend themselves, violent crime,
crimes involving guns, and home
invasions have doubled or worse
in both countries since the gun
control measures were taken.
As a contrast, states in the U.S.
that have passed concealed hand-
gun laws have had rates for vio-
lent crimes, rapes, etc. cut in half
or more since passage of those
laws. Getting rid of guns is not a
cure all, getting rid of the crimi-
nal is the only way to a totally
secure life.
Until then overworked police
departments do not have the work
force to act as bodyguards for ev-
ery citizen, nor are they even in-
tended for that purpose.Police
department exist to ensure the
public's safety at large.
We as adult citizens have the
responsibility of our personal
safety, as well as educating our
young people the importance of
safe gun handling.
Among ways to train our
young people, are organized
shooting events like those I was
a part of in 4H. Sporting clays and
skeet shoots, and of course hunt-
ing are other ways to teach then
about a safe and enjoyable sport
they can participate in for the rest
of their lives.
Children, who are familiar with
guns are less likely to be as curi-
ous about them as children who
have never seen a real gun. In the
event they are curious, they will
know how to safely handle a gun
and avoid the tragedy that befalls
some "real” children who have
been sheltered from guns and
have no idea what they are really
capable of.
Thank You,
Michael Burton
