ATTORNEY AT LAW
SELECTING A JURY
I A4
*••./ i
In a jury trial^jelecting the jury is often more important
than any other parDaf the trial. In a DWI trial, the prosecutor
and defense lawyer need to know, for example, if a panel
fra Hrink alrnhnl nr it <% m*»mKnr nf Mnthnra
member likes to drink alcohol or is a member of Mothers
\gainst Drunk Driving.
The lawyers have to ask questions to find out this important
nformation, in order to make sure that the trial is conducted
airly. After they ask their questions, the judge permits the
ittomeys to make strikes. The law permits each side to
eliminate a certain number of jurors and twelve remaining is
he jury.
