street with no clothing. Police said
the man told officers that he had
taken his clothes off because he
didn’t want them anymore. He
was arrested for disorderly con-
duct, and exposing himself.
The mother and father of a 2-
month-old infant were arrested
Officers said the father admitted
to causing the boy’s injuries, and
he was arrested for injury to a
child.
Police said the man confessed
to abusing his son for more than a
month. The mother was arrested
for failure to report child abuse,
as police said she was aware of
her husband’s behavior.

During the 48-hour period be-
tween Saturday and Monday
mornings, the Baytown Police
Department responded to 254
complaints and investigated inci-
dents that included two burglaries,
13 thefts, four auto thefts, 14 as-
saults, 28 disturbances, two forg-
eries, two reports of gunfire, ten
cases of vandalisms, and 13
alarms. There were nine minor
traffic accidents, and three acci-
dents that resulted in injuries.
Officers arrested 27 people on
charges including nine for public
intoxication, one for injury to a
child, three for disorderly con-
duct, four for assault, two for pos-
session of drugs, and several traf-
fic violations.

AUTO THEFT
A man told police that an ac-
quaintance had stolen his girl-
friend’s car when the pair when to
a local grocery store to buy beer.
The man’s companion had said
he would stay in the car, and listen
to the radio, while the boyfriend
went inside.
The boyfriend realized he had
left his money in the car, and was
on his way back out to get it when
he realized the car had no stereo.
The car was gone. Investigation is
taking him to the hospital. The
child had no vital signs when he
got to the emergency room, but
hospital staff were able to revive

A 22-year-old Houston man
died Sunday morning after his
truck hit two trees at in the 1600
block of Highway 90, according
to reports from the Harris County
Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was thrown from his
pickup and pronounced dead at
the scene. He was the only occu-
pant of the truck, authorities said.

they found several signs of injury
on the infant while they worked
on him and that they believed the
boy had been severely abused, po-
lice said.

Funeral services for John David
Fulton, 88, of Dayton was held at
10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 13,
1995, at the Sterling Funeral Home
Chapel in Baytown with the Rev.
Charles Tanner officiating.
Fulton died on Friday, Feb. 10, in a
Baytown hospital.
Bom in Fairhaven, Penn., he mar-
ried Tyra Bulay of Dayton in 1938
and had moved to Dayton in 1956.
He was a registered professional
engineer and registered professional
Texas land surveyor. He worked for
the U.S. Forestry Service on the East
coast, was one of the Sam Houston
National Forest Surveyors, was a
surveyor for Standlin CHI, St. Regis,
Champion Co., Sam Partlow and
Texas Longleaf.
He served his country during
World War II in the U.S. Army as a
surveyor from 1942 to 1946.
Fulton was a member of the First
United Methodist Church of Dayton
where he was very active in every
aspect of the church and served
through the years on all the boards.
He is survived by his son, Dr. John
David Fulton Jr. of Lufkin; his
daughters, Satyra Brown of Albu-
querque, N.M. and Jackie Smith of
Houston; one brother, Lawrence Ful-
ton; three sisters, Leila Fulton, Alice
Leinhart, Cordelia Sell, all of Penn-
sylvania; seven grandchildren; and
two great-grandchildren.
I In lieu of usual remembrance, for
those desiring, donations may be
made to the First United Methodist
Church in Dayton.
Burial was held at Magnolia Park
Cemetery following services.
Arrangements are under the direc-
tion of Sterling Funeral Home in
Dayton.

10, in a Baytown hospital.

Baptist Church, she is survived by
her husband, Tommy Reeves of Day-
ton; son, Joe Reeves; daughter,
Ailine Reeves of Dayton; her par-
ents, Debbie and Ray Sewell of
Anahuac; her husband’s parents,
Martha and Jerrell Reeves of Day-
ton; grandmother, Ardena Randall of
Lake City, Ark.; brother, Raymond
