Friday to keep their children from
following the city * fogging machine
which ha* been put into operation a* a
public health meaiure to prevent
maequito and fly growth
In a prepared statement Friday. City
Manager Charle* Thomas uid he had
roraulted l)r W C Smith, city health
officer concerning the matter and wa*
advtaed to a*k parent* lo keep their
children from following the fogging

Carthage City Commissioners will
meet In a special session at 8 p in
Monday to discuss a Small Communities
Planning Program offered by the Fast
Texas Council of Governments with
members of the Planning and Zoning
Commission before starting their regular
session at 7 p m in City Hall
The regular meeting will include
consideration for a special permit for a
circus to be held at the rodeo grounds
here That event will he sponsored by the
Carthage CB Club and is scheduled lor
May 14 if approval is given for use <4 the
rodeo grounds
In other action, commissioner* are
scheduled to appoint members to the
Board of Adjustment consider the city s
new beer ordinance for final approval
and discuss a sewer line in Shawnee

The Carthage Volunteer Fire Depart
ment played host to local governmental
and businessmen of Carthage here
Tuewdav with a fish fry held at the
American Legion Hall
The event was staged to show the
department * appreciation (or the
support given local firemen Called
Boases Night the fish fry specially
honored employers who allow their
workers to leave their job* in response to
fire alarms

number of buildings in F-ast Texas that
represent various stages of architectural
development in America
