In the glowing spirit of Christmas we
take pleasure of extending holiday greet-
ings to our old and new friends.

SITKA DEER — Somewhat
nightmarish for size among the
smaller native black-tail Sam-
bar deer of the Kerrville area
is the Sitka deer killed on the
Eddie Rickenbacker Ranch, 20
miles west of Kerrville, by Emil
L. Balusek Sr. (left) of Shiner.
The animal, shown here with
Balusek at a Kerr County lock-
er plant, weighed 435 pounds
dressed. Rickenbacker, the
widely known flier and air line
executive, imported Sitka deer
from India.
Just as the Wise Men of old were guided
on their holy journey by
the wondrous brightness of a shining star,
so may our good wishes
guide our many friends to a happy
time to come — blessed with
the spiritual gladness of the holiday
and its happy memories.
