Wednesday and continued into this
morning.
However, a woman was released
about 4 a.m. and taken away by
police for debriefing.
Linda White, 43, of Mesquite,
had said she believed her sister,
Dortheria Harris, 37, of Plano, was
the only adult left inside besides the
gunman. White said she was not
told immediately if the most
recently released hostage Was her
sister.

Wednesday and continued into this with us, Glasscock said.
There is no deadline for resolv-
ing the hostage situation, he said.
“We’re here for the long haul,”
he said. ; ?.
Police from nearby Richardson
were called in early today to give
Plano officers a break, Glassock
said. Officers were also being
aided by FBI agents and Texas
Rangers, he added.
Most of the children were
released by the gunman, identified
_______ by two relatives and a neighbor as
said early today that telephone James Monroe LiPscomb Jr, 33, in
along with three adults. One adult
was released just before midnight.
Some children were shaken up,
but none was injured.
Several parents of released chil-
dren said police told them three
children, including two of the sus-
pect’s own, remained inside the
Rigsbee Child Development Cen-
ter. White said her sister, who had
been working at the day care center
for about six months, is a friend
and co-worker of the gunman’s
wife.
“It’s been pretty tough since I
heard about it. Yqu just don’t know
what’s going on inside,” she said.
“You don’t know whether he’s
going to release her.”
White, who waited at the police
cordons two blocks from the day
care center, said she talked briefly
with some counselors who had
been talking with the released
hostages.
“They didn’t say much,” she
said. “I have already prayed about
it. I’m leaving it in God’s hands.”
Police released only scattered
details except to say the suspect
had tried to rob someone in the
parking lot of a nearby bank shortly
before entering the day-care center.
They refused to confirm the sus-
pect’s identity or reports that he is
married to a day-care employee.
Witnesses said the couple has had
marital problems.
“I don’t know why he would do
something like this,” said Brianna
Stanberry, a neighbor of Lipscomb
whose 1-year-old niece was
released from the day-care center.
“He’s never done anything like
this before. What’s important now
is getting the children out of there .”
