Bastrop ~ 100 Years Ago
From The
Here's a sampler of what was happening to
Bastrop 100 years ago, as compiled by Bien
Moore from the files of The Bastrop Advertiser:
The Palace Market has a new assistant man-
ager. in the person of Wii Decherd, a son of
our long-time Mead, Pref. AJH. Decherd. Mr.
Htxwffiam, the proprietor, as well as the public
generally, is to be congratulated on the addition
of so experienced and dever a “chopper” of
meat as Wil Decherd, who greets the patrons of
the Palace with a pleasant smile land “the best in
the shop” furnishing the public the nicest beef-
steaks, roasts, pork and sausage to be had from
the surrounding country. With Jim to select, and
Wii to prepare, the patrons of the popular
Palace can always depend on getting the very
best in the market.
