fund raising events the church
family has planned for the year.
Donations will be used to help
rebuild the church at 1617

clude a Pew Rally Musical, on

Mediation association
hosts Judge McDonald
The Bastrop County Media-
tion Association will sponsor a
presentation by Judge Tommy
McDonald on April 16, at
Chabot's Italian Restaurant lo-
cated in the Tahitian Village
Clubhouse in Bastrop.
It will begin at 6 p.m. and
end at 7:30 p.m. with refresh-
ments served at 5:30 p.m. Mc-
Donald will address the issue of
“How Lawyer’s Can Prepare
Themselves and Their Clients
for Mediation.”
Attorneys will receive 1.5
CLE's tor attending. The cost
will be $5. Following the train-
ing, the Bastrop Bar Association
will conduct a business meeting.
The presentation is open to all
mediators and interest parties.
McDonald has over 30 years
experience as a judge, lawyer,
mediator and arbitrator. He re-
ceived his JD from the Univer-
sity of Texas in 1966, and is
now a Senior District Judge of
Texas. He has conducted hun-

settlement.

has many advantages to the
formal judicial process, and can
be less costly.

tion. For more information on
this training or on mediation
services in Bastrop County, call

“Hallelujah” type choral ar-
rangement that is thrilling and
exciting, he added.
Everyone is welcome. There
is no charge.

anist, Clarence Hallmark and di-
rected by Morgan.

Mathison honored as
‘Community Builder’
Mina Masonic Lodge #1456
will present its Community
Builder Award to Jimmy Mathi-
son. The presentation will be
made at the Masonic Lodge,
601 Main St, on Thursday,
April 16, at 7 pm.
Friends of Mathison are in-
vited to attend.
The Community Builder
Award is designed to enable a
Masonic Lodge to formally rec-
ognize outstanding non-Masons
who have distinguished them-
selves through their service to
the community, to the local,
state or national government, to
their church or synagogue, or to
humanity.
Thus, the award will be made
available to be presented to
individuals who, although they
have never been initiated into
Masonry, have followed the
same precepts, ideals and
standards that have been
established for Masonic behav-
ior.
The Community Builder
Award is not necessarily de-
signed to be given only to the
obvious leaden of the commu-
nity, those in the limelight, al-
though they certainly must be
considered. Lodges are encour-
aged to seek out the men and
women who, year in and year
out, quietly and without fanfare,
show their devotion to their
community and its people with-
out the expectation of awards or
honors.
