Some of the less fortunate in our area don’t
have any protection against the cold. Many
families in the area live paycheck to paycheck
and simply can’t afford the necessary winter
wear.
To help them keep warm during the coming
chilly months, a number of local churches and
a few businesses collect jackets and coats to
give to those in need.
The annual holiday coat drive is sponsored by
Love INC., Bay Area Outreach and The Baytown Sun.

Georgia law enforcement is
investigating a man with Baytown
ties as a possible suspect involved
in the gruesome murder of five
people last week that included a
family of three adults, a toddler
and their housekeeper.
Officials with the Georgia
Bureau of Investigation are
tightlipped about detailing possi-
ble suspects, but according to a
published news report in the
Atlanta Journal-Constitution,
police are investigating a man
who stole a truck from a local
auto dealership and had a Texas
driver’s license with a Baytown
address.
The man provided Mercer
Motors in Moultrie. Ga. a
license with the name Jose
Procopio Celedon to test drive a
truck. The man never returned
with the truck and Colquitt
County Sheriff’s Department
Chief Investigator Hal Suber
confirmed with the Journal-
Constitution they suspect the
theft in relation to the murders.
