A new local business partnership
could mean more jobs for Baytonians.
National professional employer orga-
nization firm Administaff acquired
USDatalink, which has been a local,
family-run business since J 986. _ a
USDatalink was founded by
Baytown resident Bill Jones and cur-
rently operates with a staff of 35.
At the beginning of April, the firm
created a partnership with Administaff,.
which provides an external human
resources department for smaller com-
panies.
USDatalink Director Jeff Jones,
Bill’s son, said he expects the partner-
ship will allow the company to bring
more than 30 jobs to the area, as
USDatalink will take over all of
Administaff’s background check needs,
doubling their current load.
Jeff said his father always had insist-
ed on running the business in his
hometown and was committed to hir-
ing locally.
A provision of the acquisition keeps’"
USDatalink in Baytown, and allows
them to retain their name and current
staff.
The partnership will bring the advan-
tages of a large! corporation, like better
employee benefits, to the business.
Jeff said he and his fathef are very
excited, though the decision was not an
easyone.
A family-owned business for more
then 20 years, USDatalink has been
touted as a “visionary” small business.
The deciding factor in the corporate
partnership was the USDatalink’s
regard for their employees.
