given permission for the triangle
on the north’ side of the court
house to be used for a flower-bed
and also that a pecan tree could be
planted at the foot of John B. Den-

The pest house at Hickory creek
was closed Thursday .after the
three remaining cases there had
been brought to the Normal sani-
tarium to convalesce. J. R. Knox,
one of th? student? at the pest
house, was reported quite ill last
night. Messrs. Stewart and Stev-
enson were other students brought
in. and all are reported doing nice-
ly.
Dr Piner stated that the sore
arm epidemic is subsiding, and the
most common trouble now with the
vaccine patients is a rash following
severe vaccinations. This is seldom
seen, he stated, except with very
bad arms. The rash which follows
vac ina varies: in some cases ap-
pearing as a redness extending ov-
er the body, and in others the skin
is mottled or marble like, espec-
ially on the flexor surfaces. The
form most troublesome to the doc-
tor. he said, is th? papular or con-
ical shape eruption which often
spreads over the entire body, the
back being the favored place.

partment given Wednesday night,
about 100 guests were present.
The reception committee. Misses
Rita Beyette, McKelvy, Maude and
Maidie Brownlow, and Boss Taylor
and Alton Zimmerman, met the
i guests at the door. When all had
gathered the program ■was given.
All the numbers were good, an<i

Edith Sullivan and Eleanora Parks,

Miss Lucille Wooten, were heartily
applauded. The young ladies re-
: sponded with pleasing encores.

response to the address, which was
given by T. G. Milliken in. the place
of Mayor Ed F. Bates, who was ill.
In a contest. Mrs. Cooper won.
Music was furnished during the
evening by the Majestic orchestra,
and refreshments of punch, cake,
cream and candy were served.
