transfer), Iris Bums, and An-
nora McDowell were recently
initiated into the Alpha Gamma
Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma,
an organization of outstanding
women teachers. The initiation
dinner was held in the Fellow-
ship Hall of Saint Mark United
Methodist Church of Cleburne,
Texas.
Mrs. Leola Burton, second
vice-president of the chapter,
gave the invocation. Special
music was presented by Mmes
Evelyn Kennon and Jo Hearn,
accompanied at the piano by
Mrs. Nettie McElroy.
The speaker was Mrs. Edyth
Bosse of Dallas. Mrs. Bosse haa
held many responsible offices
in her local chapter of Delta
Kappa Gamma as well as state,
national, and international poei-
.. tions. She has had an admir-!
able service record in the Dal-
las city schools, having served
44 years as principal of Anson
Jones Elementary School. At
present she is president of Dal-
las Retired Teachers’ Associa-
tion. She is an untiring traveler.

Three Burleson Teachers Initiated
Into Delta Kappa Gamma Recently

lished in New Zealand in 1877.
The similarities of our culture
are noticeable in many areas
of the islands. The likenesses
are greater than the differ-
ences, she stated. One special
difference she noted was the
safe, unhurried and relaxed at-
mosphere of the people.
