TOPS 111 met at the Ingleside Housing Authority Com-
munity Room an August 23 at 7 pm. with nine members pre-
sent.
Queen of the week was BUlie Belt and the KOPS closest to
her goal was Jane Johnson. Rita Laughlin received recogni-
tion in the HA HA Bax contest.
Billie Belt won a traveling prize and the best losers cash
prize. The club will be selling candy to raise money for the
convention in 1884.
The next meeting will be held on August 30 at 7 p.m at
the Ingleside Housing Authority Community Room on First
Street.

She and her husband,
Russ who is executive vice
president of the Ingleside
National Bank, came to In-
gleside from Harlingen.
In a large skillet, heat the
oil and brown the salt and
peppered meat. Add the
onion and pepper slices to
the skiller and cook until
tender. Stir in the onion
soup and simmer, covered,
stirring occasionally for 20
minutes.
Stir in comtarch, blended
with the remaining water.
Bring to a boil, then simmer,
stirring constantly, until
thickened, above five min-
utes. Serve, if desired, over
a bed of hot rice. This recipe

Roper.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert M.
Johnson announce the birth of
their daughter, Jennifer Ashley
bom on Monday, August 22 at
8:56 a.m. in Corpus Christi at
Spohn Hospital. She weighed
eight pounds and 12 ounces at
birth and was 19 and three four-
ths inches long.
She is welcomed by her ma-
ternal grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Harold L. Hubbell of Aran-
sas Pass and her paternal
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
James W. Johnson and Mr. and
Mrs. Max M Slaughter all of In-
gleside.
Also welcoming the newborn
are her maternal great-grand-
mother, Mrs. Nellie Hubbell of
Bayside and her paternal great-

Four year old Leah Eileen
Evans, granddaughter of Tom-
mie Whitefield and niece of
Sidney Whitefield of Ingleside,
has won the Texas Most Beauti-
ful National Photogenic title in
her division in a national
pageant held at the Sheraton
Crown Hotel in Houston on
August 11-13. She also placed in
the high point contest as well as
winning the competition for
Best Twirler, First Runner Up

in Beauty at the pageant. Young
