Letter to the Editor:
I thought I would write
this letter to let two young
men know they didn’t beat —
the law the other night. You
rode your motorcycle
without lights down High-
way 271 and didn’t stop
when I spotted you and gave
chase. I’m sure in your
minds that you feel you got
away clean. Well, let me tell
you what was on my mind
when I gave chase.
You are two young men
riding a motorcycle at night
with no lights. No serious
crime has been committed
and I thought of the possible
consequences that could
happen if I gave hot pirsuit.
With no lights your visibility a
would be limited and the |
chance of you hitting I
someone or something was P
extremely great.
The chance someone else I
might hit you was also a !
good possibility. They sure L
couldn’t have seen you |
traveling at a high rate of I
speed to get away. fl
So for safety reasons, I I
decided to break it off before 1
someone got hurt over a
minor violation. In most
cases the person usually 1
gets caught, maybe not last
night, but sometime in the
future. The person that does
something like you have
done can’t keep it to
themselves, they have to
brag about it to his or her
friends and sooner or later it
gets back to me. In this
particular case, it already,
has. I would like to feel I am
dealing with two mature
young men willing to admit
they made a mistake and
take what’s coming to them.,
I would also like to take IK"'”
this opportunity to thank all
the citizens of Bogata, the
