ing at a camp for special
needs children, she met
Mike Carr. They soon
learned they were a per-
fect match for each other,
married and moved to
Mineola. As they began
their life together, life
threw them a few curve
balls, but they faced the
challenges head on. Mike
learned he had thyroid
cancer, and underwent
surgery and treatment to
overcome the illness.
Shortly thereafter, the
couple was hit with anoth-
er challenge in which

collision around 1 a.m. on

2010. One victim, from
Joaquin, was pronounced
dead at the scene, another
was airlifted from the
scene of the accident and
the other two victims were
transported by ambulance

between Beckville and
Tatum.
