Hetea Mrs. Hale has lived away but to now back in
Clarksville to stay, she says.

Mary, of ALTO; they have two children. Another
school teacher present was Georgs Thraaber. 38 yean
in the classroom who makes Rusk his home. He taught
in the George Thrasher School in Rusk for 38 yean.
Mary ir City Clerk. City Tax Collector, and City
Judge, at Alto, a full time job it would seem. They
have been in Alto 25 years; he was high school
principal 13 yean there and in the same position two
years at Crockett. He is getting ready to retire and
really looking forward to it!

Tarry Chamber* (she b the daughter also of Louis
Tarry), from Nacogdoches; he b another
teacher—they seemed 10 be strong, in the family.
He was a teacher at Stephen F. Austin
Univenity, teaching geography over a period of some
41 yean. They have four grown married children.
Mm Terry lived with them white going to school; he
was later kilted in a truck accident near Cuthand. He
was a school teacher and helping a crew put out road
oil when someone struck a match and the whole tank
exploded, killing John and another man.
William Chamben has written several books and
made a number of film strips on Texas geography.
Saw Ruth Terry Prestos, daughter of Robert
Terry. and she now lives in New York City but made a
trip home primarily for the reunion. She b now retired
from a 40-year career with NBC and does a lot of
travelling: Greece. Italy. Sicily. France, Spain/
Ragland, Scotland. North Intend and the Irish
Republic, among others. Her husband was killed in
WW II and she naa never remarried. Wo had a very
interesting converstaion—she is a fascinating person.
Two old Clarksville friends, Mrs. Sam (Ruth]
ABen and Mrs. Lucille Kunkel came in and we talked
'briefly; we also talked with Mrs. GStert (Amy] Terry,
Mother of Leslie Terry. the rural mail carrier. She and
her family lived at Whiterock for many, many years.
A bit later in the morning, we got into a
conversation with Mary Ana Finley (the Woodville
preacher’s wife), who manages three careers: school
teacher (another onel), housewife, and mother. She
grow up at Whiterock; in fact, her home can be seen

We got invited out to WHITEROCK a Satuniay
or ao ago for the Terry Family Reunion and of course
wa went. The Terry* have always been aori of like
Johnson grass in that neighborhood: all over the place
aa long aa anybody can remember.
They had the rsunioo in the Whiterock Coannun
itv Center about 10 a.m. and it went on into the
afternoon after a fbig barbecue lunch, served with
tater aated. fresh tomato**, roasting *ars, and
anything good that anybody could want to eat.
