Campus Carousel
By LaDONNA JOHNSON
OUCH! was the reaction of sev-
eral of the Tarleton students
when they forgot to wear green
on the day of the Irish. Several
days that are coming up should
stick in the minds of all of us.
Parent's duy is coming soon and
I hope that it will prove to he an
exciting event for everyone. April
18 begins our spring holidays.
FREEDOM for five days.

I will admit that I like snow and
cold weather as well as the next
person, but REALLY in the mid-
dle of March? Snow fights could
be seen all around the campus.
I saw Bottie Sheldon making a
stand against five boys, but Jeryl
Lowe didn't want to stay and
made a dash for class. As several
of the TSC coeds made a run for
their Hom^n aking Lab, they met
a barrage of snow balls. Tommy
Gunter was showing his strength
as lie carried Mickey Wade, along
with her pieas, and rolled them
in the snow. Jane Fuller was be-
trayed by her own steady, Dale
West, in-a snowball fight and he
tried to convince her that they
were having so much fun. Nati-
Lynn Smith looked a little out of
season as she was having her
picture made in a swin suit. The
snow and mess did not seem to be
enough for Rachel Heathington
. and Elaine Price because after
they finished playing in the
snow, they went back to the dorm
and had a good ole water fight.
Several of the Tarleton students
f did not seem to enjoy the snow
and cold weather, among them
were the members of the Grass-
bun- staff who worked madly to
get the yearbook sent in on the
deadline.

The -gala event of the year has
! come and gone and now all that
I is left ar<> a few keep-sakes and
! some dying flowers but the. most
| important thing that the students
! have are the memories of a won-
derful evening at the Military Ba.l
at Tarleton. The girls were lovely
and their dresses came in a rain-
bow of colors. White could be
j seen often. A few of the girls
I that wore white were Melba
Schrank, Ellen Edwards, Ann Mc-
Cain, Zada Gunter, Frances Steed,
Tanya Bright, Dianne Callow, ami
Jane Walton wore white and gold.
Going from one side to completely
another were the girls that woro
black. Some of these were Suz-
anne Morrison, Christy Schmidt,
and Nancy Porter. Ann Cobb wore
blue, Judy Pruett and Anita Jo
Wooley wore aqua, Claudale Kel-
ley woro gold, Virginia Harrell
wore pink and white, Gayle Brools
wore red, Sue Pittman wore eme-
rald, and Laura Sego wore mint
green. Two periods of United
States history could be seen in
the dresses of Ina Lee Cooke and
Cathy Bremer, Ina Lee wore a
Southern ball gown and Cathy wore
a replica of the style of the Roar-
ing 20's. All of the g'irs were ove-
ly and I am sure that they will
remember the Military Ball for a
long time.
The Military Ball had its .more
humorous and humiliating side too
for Billie Sue Kitching. To start
the night off right, she sat in the
floor the first time that she sat
down.
