Goose Creek CISD staff members donate to the Toys for Tots program to help make
Christmas bright for families in need. Toys for Tots/Faith Family Church coordinated the
toy drive, delivering collection boxes to all schools and facilities and picking them up to
prepare the toys for delivery to families. Pictured are (from left) Stella Gonzalez; Patricia

The Baytown Sun put together a
Thanksgiving pot luck lunch this week
for our staff and everyone brought a
contribution. We enjoyed smoked turkey
and ham from Rooster’s Steak House to
everyone’s delight.
The sides provided by employees were
combread dressing, deviled eggs, mashed
potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole,
sweet potatoes, fresh salad, rolls from
Chicken Express, cranberry sauce and an
assortment of desserts including pie, cake
D
and Michael Pineda’s apple dumplings.
When Michael bakes, we all show up.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.
Hopefully it makes us slow down for a
moment and realize what really matters,
why we do what we do and how much we
appreciate others.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our
readers, advertisers and contributing
writers.
We appreciate you.
