On Saturday, April 6,
2019, our precious hus-
band and father, Glen W.
Rosier, went to be with
the Lord. He was 82 years
old.
Glen was born on No-
vember 8, 1936 in Bryan,
Texas, the youngest child
of George Washington
and Reatha McClain Ros-
ier. Glen was the last of
11 children and obvious-
ly his mother’s favorite
because she gave him the
nick name of (Pet). Still
today his is known by all
his nieces and nephews as
Uncle Pet.
In 1958 he was set up
on a blind date with Mary
Ann Lehman and in Sep-
tember of the same year
they married. Their son,
Gerry Wayne, was born
in December 1959. Glyn-
da Dian came along in
March 1962, and the fam-
ily mourned the loss of a
still born daughter, Lisa
Gayle, in May 1963.
Glen worked for the
Texas Highway Patrol
for a few years, which
brought him and his new
bride to Bay town. After 6
years he started his career
with the Baytown Police
Department. During his
service to the citizens of
Baytown, he did Patrol,
Detectives, and Crime
Prevention. One of his
duties was building the
firing range that is still
used by our officers. He
also taught women’s fire
arms classes to hundreds
of women here in our city.
One of the shining mo-
ments in his career was

2019.
He was born in Effing-
ham, Illinois and gradu-
ated from high school in
Merchantville, New Jer-
sey.
He went on to earn a
music degree from West-
minster Choir College
in Princeton, New Jer-

the Anahuac area 40 years

He was preceded in

and small. Mom the driv-
er and Gary the singer.
As Gary began to en-
ter adulthood, the voice
changed and life on the
road became tiresome.
Gary and his mom
launched CFR Leasing,
an equipment finance
company, that successful-
ly served their financial
needs throughout the re-
mainder of their lives.
Gary had a flair for
style and enjoyed the
finer things that life had
to offer. He never met a
stranger and especially
loved his friends.
Gary loved to talk
and laugh and talk some
more. Poor health and
physical limitations chal-
lenged Gary throughout
his days, but they forged
in him a zeal for life and
an unshakeable faith in
the Lord.
Gary passed unexpect-
edly, but peacefully on
March 21, 2019.
No more tears and no
more pain.

teaching a young blind
woman to shoot her pis-
tol by tying a bell on the
target. He would pull the
string and she would aim
and shoot.
Glen retired from the
force in 1992 and they
began their move up to
Tyler County, Texas. He
was so proud of the home
he designed and built with
his own hands on Lake
Ivanhoe. He and mom
have had many wonderful
years there, watching the
ducks go by, taking Dian
out on boat rides and pid-
dling around with Gerry.
They are active mem-
bers of Emmanuel Baptist
Church in Doucette where
he serves as a Deacon.
Several years were
spent volunteering with
the Texas Baptist Men.
He was on the Disaster
Relief Team, and kept his
bag packed and ready to
go at a moment’s notice.
He went all over the coun-
try, digging out houses in
mud slides, cleaning up
fallen branches from ice
stonns, cutting back wood
from forest fires, etc....
He LOVED this work and
did it all for the service of
his Lord.
Singing gave Glen such
joy. He led the singing at
church for 40 years. He
didn’t give that up until
just a couple of years ago.
We spent many car rides
singing hymns and little
country ditties that either
he or one of his siblings
made up. Even at the end
of his life, in the hospital,
we were singing hymns in
the middle of the night.
Glen was preceded
in death by his parents,
George Washington and
Reatha Rosier; sisters,
Amy Kurten, Mackie
Mitchell, Naomi Duncan
and Rosa Batten; broth-
ers, Jim, David, Dick,

Contractors: KMCO knew of valve
leak before Texas plant fire
HOUSTON (AP) — Three contractors who worked at
a Houston-area chemical plant say in a lawsuit that the
company knew that a flammable gas was leaking before a
deadly fire erupted but did not order an evacuation.
The lawsuit was filed Monday by the contractors, who
were injured when the fire began April 2 at the plant oper-
ated by KMCO LLC in Crosby. They contend that KMCO
officials were aware of a leaking valve on a high-pressure
line that allowed the gas to escape and set off the fire at
the chemical storage facility. One worker was killed and
several others were hurt. Monday’s lawsuit is at least the
third filed against KMCO.
