Reaching the century mark is always a cause for
celebration, and it is no different for First Christian
Church in Bay town.
The church will celebrate its 100th anniversary at
10:15 a.m., Aug. 11 at the church’s location, 201 For-
rest.
Pastor Mitchell Jackson, who has pastored the church
over the past two-and-a-half years, said the celebration
would keep in line with its longstanding standard of
being an open and affirming church.
“Come as you are. We don’t judge. We don’t have
any dogmas or anything like that,” Jackson said.

Church was built in 1921. The second structure was built
on Marion Street in 1939 is pictured above. A third struc-
