WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) ap-
peared on Bloomberg last night to discuss Senate Democrats
rejecting the House’s reasonable proposals to keep the gov-
ernment open and delay Obamacare. Excerpts are below, anc
the full interview can be seen here (Preview).
“Every reasonable proposal, including the last which would
have delayed the individual mandate for a year, eliminated the
special carve-out for Members of Congress, went down on a
party-line vote.
“Why do Members of Congress get a special carve-out? Why
are Democrats defending that? People are sick and tired of
business as usual in Washington.
“They see spending continue, they see borrowing continue,
and they want to see a change and so far it doesn’t seem like
the President has gotten the message.”
Senator Cornyn serves on the Finance and Judiciary Com-
mittees. He serves as the top Republican on the Judiciary
Committee’s Immigration, Refugees and Border Security
subcommittee. He served previously as Texas Attorney Gen-

Henry W. Teich, Johnson County
Republican Party Chairman,
Announces as Candidate for
District 58 State Representative
September 24, 2013 - Lifelong Johnson County resident
Henry W. Teich of Cresson today announces his candidacy
for District 58 State Representative. Henry and his wife
Beverlee own Teich Farms, which specializes in custom
harvesting. They have been married for 42 years. Henry
has many years of experience in agriculture, education,
commercial transportation, energy and insurance. He is an
honor graduate of Tarleton State University and attended
Granbury High School. For over twenty years, Henry has
been highly aware of, and deeply involved in, addressing
and resolving issues facing District 58 and State of Texas.
“I believe that the primary responsibility of a state represen-
tative is to represent the people and local governments of the
district at the state level,” Teich stated. He recognizes that
among the key issues facing Johnson and Bosque Counties,
as well as the state, are: promoting economic growth and
development; ensuring quality educational curriculum and
funding; and controlling government spending.
Henry also believes that strong families are the foundation
of a dynamic economy, an effective education system, and
a productive workforce. Government on all levels should
be limited to fostering an environment of personal respon-
sibility and opportunity for personal wealth, and ensuring
individual liberties.
Henry has been actively involved as a strong Conservative
in the Republican Party for many years. In addition to being
county chair, he has been a precinct chair, election judge,
delegate to numerous state conventions, and a delegate to
the 2012 Republican National Convention. He was an Elec-
tor in the Electoral College for the controversial 2000 presi-
dential election. He has served as the chair of the county
platform committee and as a member of the state platform
committee.
As a result of his candidacy for state representative, Henry
will resign as Johnson County Republican Party Chairman
at the party’s October 1st Executive Committee meeting at
its headquarters in Cleburne.
“The Johnson County Republican Party meets the FIRST
TUESDAY of each month at 210 S. Main Street in Cleburne,
starting at 7:00 p.m. Meetings usually include a program
speaker and lots of information about politics, campaigns,
and elections. For more information, please visit http://www.
jcrp.org or call (817) 558-3135.”

According to the AKC breed standard “PBGVs
are extroverted, friendly, and independent hounds.
Sometimes called the “happy breed,” PBGVs have
tirelessly wagging tails and expressive, intelligent
eyes. PBGVs are typically active and lively. While
good with children, other dogs and pets, they may be
unsuitable for very young children because of their
energy and tendency to play bite.”Sounds like him!

Kent’s artwork might be described as impressionistic real-
ism, painting how light strikes the subjects before him. “I
try to look for opportunities to use contrasting hues, values,
edges and shapes to carve out. I strive to paint without too
much detail so that the viewer’s brain can fill in the rest.”
