Mrs. Guenzel
Hosts Party
Eleven Senior girls were
guests Monday afternoon at
4:00 p.m. in the home of
Mrs. Henry Guenzel. They
enjoyed remlnlcing over their
12 years of school together.
As the girls arrived they
were served sandwiches,
cookies, dip, chips, nuts
mints, and lime sherbert
Ginger Ale punch. The cen-
terpiece on the refreshment
table was a large ceramic
owl surrounded with green-
ery and daylillies.
The group enjoyed viewing
slides which depicted activi-
ties from the first through
the 12th grades. Some of the
slides included; first grade
plays, dancing classes, class
picnics in the Guenzel back
yard. Brownie , Girl Scouts,
birthday parties, 8th grade
banquet and graduation, band
members last football game,
and the Eaglettes in the Holi-
day in Dixie parade in Sh-
reveport. The slides were
greeted with much fun and
jest.
Favors of hand painted china
set rings were presented to
Barbara Guenzel, SharonMc-
Elroy, Carol Burton, Susan
McCarroll, Gail Fisher, De-
borah Chapman, Susan Hol-
comb. Janey Sartain, Beverly
Walker, Te-a Maness and
Vickie Denham.

was held Saturday evening at 7;30 p.m. at the New Southern
Motor Hotel. Seated, left to right, are Senior officers; David

Maydelle junior-Senior Banquet Is Held Friday
The Maydelle High School
Junior Class honored the Sen-
ior Class with a banquet Sat-
urday evening In the Tassle
Belle Room of the New South
ern Motor Hotel.
A Spring theme was used in
the decorations. Focal point
was a pool of rainbow-colored
flowers with a Maypole en-
twined with flowers ami
greenery. Atop the May-
pole were silhouettes of a boy
and a girl graduate.
The u-shaped tables fea
tured lighted tapers. The
head table centerpiece was an
arrangement of yellow spring
flowers.
Junior class president Sha-
ron acker was toastmistres
for the evening. She wel-
comed the Seniors with Sen-
ior President David Roach re.
sponding. Mr. I arry Pool,
faculty member, offered the
invocation.
Guest speakers for the eve-
ning were Mr. Pete Hilllnand
Bro. Ronnie Johnson, linter
tainment wa provided by
Barry Schahn,
The benediction was given by
Mr. A. G. Johnson.
The menu for the evening, in
Spring terms, was pixie pride,
milkweed fluff in pod, May
poles, clover in the sun, ro e
petals, flower'- delight, gar-
den mist, and seed in the wind

Miss Jan Sales, bride-elect
of Ross Thurston, was honor
ed with a kitchen gadget show
er at the home of Mrs, Her
schel Kyle, 1810 Daniel St.
on Saturday afternoon, May
10th. Co hoste -es for the
event were Mrs. Henry West
brook and Mr . Robert Rice,
Guests were greeted by Mr .
Kyle and registered by Mrs.
Rice in the foyer. The re
gistry table held a small ar
rangement of yellow da i ie
and a recipe box in which
each gue i place ! her fav
orite recipe.
The entrance door was de
corated with a tea towel to
which many useful kitchen
gadgets were attqc

unique decoration was pre-
sented to the honoree.
The round serving table was
laid with a white embroider
ed cloth and centered with
an arrangement of yellow and
white daisies in a milk glass
container. Napkins and plate-
also carried out the laisy
theme and the bride's cho
sen colors of yellow and
white. Refreshments of na
chos, cocktail sausage, as-
sorted chips and dips, open
face sandwiches and sand
tarts were served to the hon
oree; her mother, Mrs. Joe
sales; Mrs. Robert Thurston
of Easterly, Texas, mother
of the future groom; Mi
Sue Boone, Miss Cathy Fitts,
Miss Jennifer Swift, Linda
Ford of Fort Worth, Mrs.
Charles Swift, Mrs. Malcomb
