My name is Pam Winfield and I am running for a position on the Alto
I.S.D. School Board. My husband Steve and I own and operate
Alto Nursing Center wherein we take great pride in caring for our
residents as well as our staff.
As I contemplated making the decision to run for this position, I
looked toward my own experiences and assets. Academically, as a
parent of five young men I have confronted learning levels ranging
from Gifted and Talented, attention deficiency, collegiate excellence, and
academic difficulties. The struggles that both parents and teachers alike
face in dealing with these differences have created compassion and a
knowledge base with in me that I am convinced will serve as an asset if I am
elected a position on the school board. My family is a strong supporter of
athletics and extracurricular activities. Consequently, I have experienced
first hand how athletics and academics can often intertwine to mold our
newest generation into hardworking, focused members of society.
I am proud of our students. I am proud of our faculty and staff. I am
proud to be part of a community that supports its students. Together
we can create a school district that excels in academics, athletics, and
extracurricularachievements. Furthermore, Alto has the resources to fulfill
the newest national educational referendum. If I am elected a position on
the Alto I.S.D. School board, I vow to step up to the challenge from our
nation's capital: in Alto, "No Child Will Be Left Behind".
