America has noteseen fit to spon-
sor the gigolo system, though it is
practiced in Europe. It is tolerated
there because the necessity of such
a system is obvious. Why it is more
necessary there than here is open to
question. In this country, especially
in great commercial centers, there
ar hundreds of lone women wh
are there for business reasons. Often
a part of this buesiness is to go to
places to see what’s being done in
certain lines or worn in certain
places. It certainly is awkward for
such women to get about without
male escorts.
